Your dog's behaviour is a reflection of your training.

Your dog’s behaviour is a reflection of your training. Keep cool! You've invited a beautiful new puppy into your family. Congratulations! As a different species of animal, who doesn't speak English or understand the rules of your home, expect your puppy to: P*e when his bladder is full - anywhere ...

There are two foundational skills I teach my clients, usually during our first session or class. I see people scratching their heads at the simplicity, asking why is this important? 'I want to teach my dog to go to his bed and lay down until I release him. Let's not waste time on such nonsense!' Thi...

The treat is the consequence (reward) for the behaviour, not the cue to get the behaviour. One of the ultimate goals in training your dog is being able to trust that they will do as asked without needing a food reward every time. What dog owner wants to walk around with a pocketful of treats everywh...

UNIQUE TIPS FOR YOUR CANINE

What to do if your puppy or dog swallows a sharp object like a push pin, glass, etc...

Depending on the size of your dog, soak 2-4 cotton balls in milk and put it down your dog's throat. There's something about that combination that will find the pin in the intestines, and wrap around it, protecting the bowels.

Make sure to check your dogs p**p every time he/she goes. It could take 24 hours. A vet recommended this, AND IT WORKED, saving my client thousands of dollars in vet bills (or worse)! The pin passed with the cotton safely wrapped around it.

Of course, monitor your pooch closely, and if it doesn't pass, take him/her to a vet immediately.
