Hello humans! 👋

I hope everyone is enjoying the fall season! 🍁

After what seems to be an increase in last minute cancelations, unfortunately I’m going to have to change my cancelation policy.

The new policy for South Paw Grooming, will be in effect starting Oct 17th 2023.

- If you need to cancel an appt I require 48hrs notice, and there is no penalty to you.
- If you cancel within the 48hrs I will require half of the appt cost.
- If you cancel the same day as your appt, you will owe the entirety of the appt.

All cancelation fees will have to be paid at your next appt pre groom.

I will also be sending reminders 48hrs before appts, instead of the usual 24hrs.

This new policy is only to incentivize you to give me more time to fill spots. I understand things come up, and life is unpredictable… however there are people that want those appts and don’t have enough time to get here.

I appreciate all of you for the continued support for South Paw 🐾

Hello Humans! 👋

Speaking candidly, the shop has had an influx of cancellations recently.. and by influx, SPG means daily. Covid has been rearing it’s ugly head in our community, which is causing a large impact on many small businesses.
It’s not just covid cancelations, it’s also run of the mill “I forgot” “I’m working” “My family member is unable to bring X today”. South Paw Grooming is taking a beating and it’s becoming very difficult. So here are some reminders of why it’s important to keep your appts, and if your unable, to give lots of notice.

1 - Your pets health. Regular grooming keeps your little love looking & smelling good, but it also cares for the skin, ears, nails. When these areas are not tended to, it can cause health risks in the future.

2 - Just because you cancel an appt, does not mean you get a new one “in the next week or two”. I will always do my best… however, continuously asking clients to move around to accommodate is not fair to them, and not fair to the groomer.

3 - Getting a spot filled in less the 24hrs is close to impossible! On occasion it can happen, however usually there’s a hole in my day.

4 - SPG is turning down clients. I’m saying no to people to keep your spots available for you. There’s this paradox where I can’t take on new clients because I can’t guarantee them a spot in the future. So even with cancelations, it’s difficult to give the spot to a new human, when there’s no guarantee I’ll be able to keep them as a client. This isn’t just annoying for the human, it’s bad for the little love. Dogs, like humans, struggle with change. So flip flopping them between groomers can cause unneeded stress and anxiety.

5 - This is directly affecting my income. I understand things come up, life gets hectic, we all struggle. However, please keep in mind The appointment you cancel may not effect your day by all that much, but I’m losing my livelihood. Imagine if you will.. you show up to work. Bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for the day. Your boss comes in to your office and tells you “you won’t be working for the next two hours, you can clean your office, or work on paper work, but you can’t do your actual job. OH, and your not getting paid” now… imagine that happening almost every day.

New Rules
- If you cancel within 24hrs of your appt, no matter the reason, there will be a 25 dollar charge to your next appt.
- Missing 3 appts, without giving 24hr notice, in a year will unfortunately mean I’ll have to take you and your little love off my client list.

I will be starting a new “Last minute cancelation list” for humans who want a spot and can do last minute cancelations.

This post is long, and drawn out. But if you made it this far I appreciate you more then you can know! I love being your groomer! Please let me do what I love haha! I want to work hard to make your beauty’s look and feel their best! ❤️ Thank you for the continued support!

As some of you know SPG had a price increase in January 2022! Your new price is being sent in with your reminder message the day before your appt! ❤️ Just so no one feels blindsided by the price increase, here is the rough estimate of a groom for your lovely 🐶

Small no fluff 40.00+tax
Small with fluff 60.00+tax
Med no fluff 55+tax
Med with fluff 65-70+tax
Large no fluff 60-70+tax
Large with fluff 80+tax
XL no fluff 75+tax
XL with fluff 90-100+tax

**all prices listed above are a rough estimate, prices may increase/decrease depending on coat condition, temperament etc.**

These prices are due to the rise in cost of supplies and equipment. SPG prides itself on using the best products/tools and being a safe quiet environment for your pups. South Paw is a one on one grooming shop, it’s cage free, contact free and focused on the over all grooming experience tailored to each and every lovely creature 🐾 Grooming in a one on one setting means less accidents, less chance of contagious diseases and creates a space where you’ll never have to worry about your love getting pushed aside for other animals.

Hello Humans 👋

Due to the level change taking effect tomorrow, South Paw will now be curbside. What this means is no humans will be able to enter the shop, I will come out to you to retrieve your lovely ☺️
Unfortunately, for the humans that stay for there loves groom, we will have to postpone until we are back to Level 2. 😞

I’m so sorry for any inconvenience this causes, however South Paws number one priority is safety for the pups, but also for the humans 🙏❤️ I will be reaching out to those clients who stay to reschedule.

With the Christmas season fast approaching SPG is going to be doing something a little different this year…😚🎄❤️

SPG will be opening up its books on Mondays for the months of November & December!
This means there are 20-25 spots for new clients and/or existing clients that would like them 🥰

THE CATCH

These spots don’t exist year round, they are only for the Christmas season. Meaning just because there’s a spot for your lovely now, does not mean there will be openings in the new year 😞 unfortunately, SPG isn’t taking on long term clientele as of now.
HOWEVER, if your looking at your lovely, and thinking “Santa does not come to dirty dogs” well… this may be perfect for you ❤️🎄

Please message the page if interested, the spots will be solely for Mondays, between the hours of 10:00am and 8:00pm. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Disclaimer… if you are on the waitlist you are still more then welcome to take one of these spots, however they are not permanent client spots 🙅‍♀️ unless a client drops off the list, SPG doesn’t have permanent openings at this time. 😞

SPG is reaching out to make everyone aware of a change in policy!

🚨🚨Please Read🚨🚨

Cancelation Policy -
If cancelling appointments, please give the shop 24 hours notice. If SPG receives a cancelation within 24 hours of the appointment time, there will be a $25 dollar charge on your next visit to the shop. This charge will have to be paid before the groom starts.

Switching Policy -
SPG will always try to make switches for clients unable to make their original appointment time. However, this is NOT guaranteed. If an appointment is not able to be switched you will be added to the cancelation list for existing clientele.

This summer is the first time in a LONG time that we all get to enjoy the company of our family and friends from afar. It’s exciting, and SPG knows that a preset schedule can conflict with plans. However, I ask that everyone respects my time, and give me enough time to fill the spot. Small businesses only succeed when everyone shows up ☺️
Now, you may be questioning why I don’t just pull from my existing waitlist to fill the holes. The trouble is just because there’s a hole this week from a missed appointment, does not mean there will be a hole in the schedule in 6 weeks time. So taking on a new human without having future appointments available isn’t fair to them.

Please respect the new policies, and understand this has become a huge hinderance on the shop. This is not specific to a singular client, it has been weeks of cancelations and switches. Thank you for reading this post, and all the continued support for SPG 🐶❤️

SPG 2.0 is already under construction, and it’s going to be AMAZING!! 😍😍 With the shop being worked on, it reminded me to remind you that SPG will be starting the new shop’s book at the end of the month!

South Paw Grooming will be remaining open during this new red phase! SPG has consistently been curbside with social distancing since May, so for the majority of you it’s business as usual!
