Francis' Bullies Breeding quality Olde English Bulldogges
And French Bulldogs The original Bulldogges were bred to participate in blood sports like bull baiting.

Breed History
The ancestors of the Olde English Bulldogge originated in England between 1600 and 1700. These early Bulldogges were also the ancestors to many of the bull breeds that exist today including the English Bulldog and the American Bulldog. This so called sport became quite popular in England throughout the middle of the 18th Century. Bull baiting primarily consisted of staking out a bull

and allowing several Bulldogges to attack it. A dog of great courage and agility was needed for bull baiting. This dog was of medium size; larger dogs were considered to be the result of various mastiff crosses. Around 1835, laws were passed in England prohibiting bull baiting and the original Bulldogges main purpose of existence vanished. Within a decade the numbers of Bulldogges declined drastically almost to the point of extinction. Dog show fanciers eventually decided to reconstruct the breed, but wanted to tone down the aggressive temperament of the original Bulldogge. To do so they crossed the remnants of the existing stock with other breeds and over the years that followed they developed the modern English Bulldog. Unfortunately though the majority of today’s modern English Bulldogs are wrought with all kinds of genetic health problems. Today’s Olde English Bulldogge is a reconstruction of the original Bulldogge of the 17th and 18th century. Various genetic crosses have been used in carefully and thoughtfully planned breeding programs to obtain this goal. The foundation of most of today’s Olde English Bulldogges can be traced back to English Bulldogs, American Bulldogs, APBTs and Mastiffs. These various dog breeds were used very selectively in various combinations to obtain the desired physical traits of the original Bulldogge. The result has been a good looking Bulldogge of great athletic ability that is much healthier and physically fit without most or all of the problems that plague many of today’s modern English Bulldogs. The goal of all Olde English Bulldogge breeders should be to produce genetically healthier Bulldogges that are free breathers, free breeders, and free whelpers. General Description : The ideal Olde English Bulldogge is a loyal, courageous dog of medium size with a large powerful head and stout muscular body. Olde English Bulldogges are athletic and most importantly of very good health, males are free breeders and females are free whelpers. The Olde English Bulldogge is devoid of all breathing issues and is capable of enjoying outdoor activity without concern except in extreme heat or cold. The temperament is very stable and trustworthy making them a loyal companion, capable protector and the ultimate family member. Olde English Bulldogges thrive on pleasing their owners and are very trainable. The typical lifespan of an Olde English Bulldogge is between 10 and 14 years. Height : Males – 18 to 20 inches at the shoulder. Females – 17 to 19 inches at the shoulder. Weight : Between 50 to 70 pounds for females and 65 to 85 pounds for males. Although height and weight above the standard is to be discouraged, there is no penalty as long as the dog is well proportioned, otherwise correct and balanced. Temperament : Disposition should be outgoing and happy. While a watchful nature may be expected at home, human aggression without provocation is a disqualifying fault.

POTENTIAL OWNER: How much is the puppy?

BREEDER: $4,000 for a pet

POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!

BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?

POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $1000. You breeders are so over priced.

BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?

POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!

BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.

POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!

BREEDER: To start you will need a female(average minimal cost $7500 and up with breeding rights). Also a male(average minimal cost $7500 and up) or semen (average $3500 and up). You will need to show them to their championship to show they meet the breed standard (Minimal $20,000 each with travel & fees). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $1500 per dog. Raise and provide daily care, feeding & grooming for 2 years. (So minimal $200 per month).

POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...

BREEDER: For $1000 you can raise a litter for me and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you also have to pay the cost of whelping & care.

POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.

BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care. Possibly tube or bottle feed puppies every 2-3 hours if the mom is low on milk the first couple weeks.

POTENTIAL OWNER: Eight weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.

BREEDER: You will also need the reproductive vet to do xrays($200-$500), possibly progesterone testing($75-$250) & a C-section($2000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups until old enough to be placed. Pups vets exams and vaccines ($350 and up depending on how many puppies are in the litter). Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, sanitizer, absorbent tissues, scissors, hemostats, heating pad, whelping box, blankets, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications, incubator, oxygen & hand feeding supplies in case of emergency....

POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!

BREEDER: For $4000 you can buy them.

POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.

BREEDER: Wise decision.
For us breeders there are no vacations or holidays, while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. It is a no breaks commitment.

THIS IS THE REALITY

When you choose a professional, you don't only pay for the puppy but also: Tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc...

AND THEN THERE WAS 6....These beauties looking for a place to call their own. DM for details...💞
