I am very honoured to introduce Amiga❗

This very-well bred Labrador Retriever puppy is being trained to be a service dog for her human. She is learning specific skills to assist her human when required. ⚠️

While out on a walk with me, Amiga is off-duty, so we don't need to be focussed on certain tasks or commands. The only thing that is a MUST is that Amiga cannot pull on the leash, so loose-leash walking is positively reinforced. ✅

I am very honoured to be chosen to take Amiga on a walk when needed, as walking a service dog is a serious responsibility, even if she is off-duty. 🙏

Did you know? Dogs have 18 muscles in their ears that are used for listening. 💪

Dogs can hear 4x better than humans, and they can hear higher frequencies than us. Dogs can differentiate different sounds, like the specific sound of your car, and they can also pinpoint the location of the sound. 📍

We all know for sure that dogs know the sound of their favourite treat bag being opened. 😆

All the way back to 2004 to my first dog, Darquise, a purebred Staffordshire Bull Terrier! 🐹

This was our first vet visit. ❤ Darquise lived to be 1 month shy of her 13th birthday. She was my soulmate, my best friend and I miss her tremendously. She and I experienced a lot together, and she taught me what unconditional love truly is. 🥰

She was the inspiration for my business name, Canine Cuddles n' Care, as the cuddles made everything okay again. 🥰

Darquise was one years old when the Ontario Liberal government banned "pit bulls", including Staffordshire Bull Terriers. She lived most of her life wearing a muzzle in public, as was required by law. 🤬

Everyone who knew her totally loved her and knew there was something extra special about her. I have been a dog guardian for 21 years now, and cannot even fathom my life without the joy and love of a dog by my side. I was so priveleged to have had such an amazing dog in my life. I miss you my Baby Girl. ❤😘

I am so happy to introduce Howie❗

This dude is one of the friendliest dogs I have ever met. As soon as I entered his family's home for our meet n' greet, I was greeted by him and got lots of kisses. 🥰

Howie has recently become a big brother to 12 week old Miller, and is very happy to have a little one to play with and look after. 🐕

You can't help but smile when looking at his adorable face! 😍☺️

I am so happy to introduce 12 week old Miller❗️

This little cutie has already bonded very tightly to her older brother, Howie (he will be introduced tomorrow). She is also a bit of a houdini. 🙃

Being a young puppy, I had a plan in place to get her outside as quickly as possible so she would p*e outside, and not inside. When I arrived, I quickly had to formulate Plan B as miss Miller had somehow escaped from her crate! 😎

So our first visit was a bit chaotic, which was not how I wanted to start our relationship, but both Miller and Howie seemed happy at the end of our visit, which made me very happy! Phew! ☺️

Miss Miller, are we in for some adventures together? 😆

I am so proud of Lola! 🤗 When I initially met with her family it was explained to me that they left and entered the home thru their garage when taking Lola outside. One day, something near the man door going to the garage made a noise which frightened Lola. Since then, she was afraid to go thru the garage, as it created a negative association. ⛔ I thought this would be a great task for Lola and I to tackle, as she had no negative (or any) association with me and the garage door. 👍 Lola overcame her fear in less than 2 weeks, with the help of some tasty treats and a lot of positive encouragement‼ Lola is a garage superstar now! 🤩 Here is a brief video to show how she is calmly waiting as the garage door opens. No backing away in fear. I would love to show you her full entry to the home, but I must respect my clients' privacy of their personal space.
