(38)

Offering daycare & training to the dogs and their families of High River & surrounding communities. Pawsitive Pups Daycare provides a stimulating environment for your dogs to enjoy. Opening at 6:30am, we provide a full day of play paired with training, visits to the yard, equipment and toys. A short one to two hour nap allows dogs a bit of 'me' time, ensuring dogs take a break during their visit.

This time is also used to feed dogs with snacks or lunch and gives them an opportunity to eat and digest. Group Classes & Private Training are primarily taught by our founder, Brittany Wallace. A Certified Dog trainer and Behaviorist, she has worked with hundreds of dogs and families to help both understand and build a trusting relationship that fulfills both beings lives with a 'pawsitive' and rich union. Group classes (basic obedience, puppy training, shy dog) are structured to accommodate 4 to 6 dogs and run in 5 week sessions, once a week for one hour. Make sure to check out our website and page for more info. We have set the standard for care in the Foothills and take pride in building trusting relationships with each of our clients and dogs, we know that trusting someone with your dog can be hard and we want you to know that they are treated with love and skill, by trained professionals that love each dog as their own. www.pawsitivepupsab.com

The facts and research has been completed. The use of aversive training methods are not necessary and do not work better. Why threaten or hurt a dog, teach them and help them feel better about the situation. Motivate them and build trust. That is what positive reinforcement does.

The use of shock collars, prong collars, and slip leads/choke chains are not necessary to train and teach your dog. The use of these tools is using force, pain, and the avoidance of pain to get your dog to comply to you wishes despite how they are feeling. It's like I ask you to sit on a chair and you don't want to so I threaten to hit you if you don't listen. Your response can be a variety of things, to hit me first ignore me, or comply to avoid my wrath... does that sound like an ethical, humane way to treat anyone? And remember our dogs don't speak human so we could also have unrealistic expectations for the dog to do as they are told and they don't even know what the expectation is and then are hurt because they didn't respond correctly....

The research and evidence is astounding and some trainers still use these methods, but these tools are banned in other countries.

We are having some fun with some Crate positivity today! Both doors are open allowing them to check it out on their own and find the cookies inside. This helps build or maintain the crate being a positive place for our pups 🐶 😊 ❤️

We looooove puppies but strongly encourage you not to breed your own dogs. There is an overpopulation of dogs and cats with out homes. Shelters are FULL and there are not farms looking for working breeds or herding breeds that lack training and have behavioral issues due to a lack of a job.

Dogs require a ot of time, patience, and deserve to be one of your priorities if you get one as well.

Be sure before you make a commitment in getting one and please do not breed your pet to make $ or because your dog is extra cute. Many dogs should not be bred for numerous reasons including but not limited to health issues, behavior issues and lack of education on whelping pups.

Spay and neuter your animals to help prevent accidental litters, over population, and ever increasing Euthanasia of animals.

We do not judge, we only wish to educate and assist in the prevention of rehoming/Euthanasia of unwanted or homeless animals.

Today is Carolyn's last day! 🥲 It came too fast!

We are so sad to see her go, but are so excited for her next chapter! She is headed off to Olds and is enrolled in Land & Water Resources program. 🌎

The door is always open for her here and I am sure we will be seeing her over the next year during her breaks as it's hard not to come and get some doggy love from all of these nuggets. We will miss her amazing Pretty Likes, strong, consistent work ethic, and everything else about YOU Carolyn, as you have a heart of gold. Cheering you on all the way! Join us in wishing her the best in this next part of her journey!

Sincerely,
Brittany & The Pawsitive Pups family

Come join us on September 9 at 6:35 pm for a night of back to the basics. This class is for those just learning their skills or learning how to start generalizing them to new areas. Did you know that our dogs may know how to sit at home but may not know in a new area? That is normal and called generalizing the skill. This class will be full of polishing those skills or learning them and adding different areas or surfaces to keep practicing!
