Hello, I'm Betty. Our human is facing financial constraints, mentioning that funds are depleted, pellets are running low, and hay is needed urgently. Furthermore, rising power bills and expensive vegetables are adding to the challenges. We, the animals, want to help but are unable to find employment. Our caregiver assures us that our main responsibility is to be charming. While we will continue to be cute, we would appreciate any help in securing the essential supplies.

Lily update: regrettably, the peroxide test yielded inconclusive results. Nevertheless, the antibiotic prescribed to treat her potential upper respiratory infection is identical to the one required to treat a potential UTI. Consequently, we will proceed with the antibiotic treatment and closely monitor her condition. Should blood continue to be present, an X-ray will be necessary to ascertain whether she has stones. However, given that Lily exhibits no signs of pain or discomfort while urinating, it is probable that she has a simple UTI. We will maintain regular updates on her condition. Please continue to pray for our lovely Lily, and hopefully, she will experience a full recovery. She is an exceptionally sweet and loving animal, always eager to hug and snuggle. Her breathing has improved significantly, and we will continue to monitor her progress. As a precautionary measure, she will remain in quarantine for a few more days to ensure she does not have a contagious upper respiratory infection. Subsequently, she will rejoin the herd, and we will complete the two-week antibiotic course to treat the UTI.

Lily update.

She is such a sweet girl takes meds like a trooper. Last night I did notice she sounded more raspy than day b4 but there was no discharge from her nose. This morning I saw what looks like blood. Now I am currently using care fresh white paper bedding in the house so it could be oxidation i have gone and purchased white towels and will change the cage to that so we can test with peroxide to see if it is blood if so a vet visit will be required. Typically I would use urine test strips but we have ran out.

Will post another update tonight wen I get home from work.

Those of you who watched live yesterday are aware that Lily, one of our female animals, had to be isolated from the herd yesterday and is currently being cared for in the house due to a minor nasal discharge. The discharge was not excessive, but rather a small bubble visible in her nostril when she breathed. As a precautionary measure, we brought her in and monitored her breathing, which was slightly rapid yesterday. Today although she exhibits some raspiness when making sounds, we have implemented our own quarantine protocol and have antibiotics available. However, we are awaiting confirmation from our veterinary team to ensure the correct medication is administered. In cases of upper respiratory issues, two antibiotics are commonly used: Baytril and TMS. Once we receive guidance, we will initiate treatment. In the meantime, we are closely monitoring Lily's condition. She is eating well and remains affectionate. We are optimistic about her recovery, especially given the swift detection of her symptoms, which were not present the previous day. Lily is an older pig, approximately four years old. So it is rather crucial to act fast.
