Hinton & District Spay and Neuter Society - Hadsans Our mission is to reduce and stabilize the stray and feral cat population through a trap, spay/neuter and release program and education of our community.

The objects of the Society are:
-To carry out a spay and neuter program to feral cats and dogs
-To encourage and promote community awareness through education of health and well-being of animals.
-To provide assistance or low income families who otherwise could not afford to spay or neuter their pets
-To acquire lands, by purchase or otherwise, erect or otherwise provide a building or buildings fo

r social and community purposes
-To provide all necessary equipment and furniture for carrying on various objects.
-To sell, manage, lease, mortgage, dispose of, or otherwise deal with the property of the society. We believe:
- All cats should have a chance at a healthy and happy life.
-Cats and communities can live in harmony.
-Responsible owners prohibit their pets from reproducing.
-Every pet owner should have access to veterinarian care
-Through our program, we will humanely reduce the stray and feral cat population

We are making the 375 km round trip tomorrow to pick up these cats. If not they will most likely be euthanized. We do not think this is the proper way for their lives to end just because their owner died suddenly.

The SPCA has agreed to the two, but that leaves us with four that we desperately need foster homes for. We do not have a building that we can house them in, we are foster home based only.

Ivy is a super affectionate girl who is looking for her very own home.
She is approximately 7 months old and does well with other kitties and calm.dogs.
She has never been around young children, but would probably do well if the children are respectful towards animals.

She loves being held, sitting on yoir lap for movie night and would make an excellent addition to your home or keep you company on lonely nights.

Poor Marvin (Buddy) has found himself back in our care.
Marvin is the cat found injured in Peers and would frequent the general store there.
He was friendly with people so he had obviously belonged to someone at some point in time.
A lady had offered to take Marvin in and look after him, unfortunately we learned that she moved away and left him locked in the building. After he was finally rescued from that situation we of course agreed to take him back into our care.

We are hoping there is someone out there to give this sweet loving boy the final furever home he so desperately deserves.

Marvin is approximately 2 years old, can get along with other cats, unsure about dogs.

Link would like to thank everyone who purchased items off our Amazon Wish List.
He also wants everyone to know that is is still available for adoption.
He would love to have a home where he has safe access to the outside as he currently has learned how to successfully escape his foster home on a regular basis.

Today, we received an urgent request for assistance from an 87-year-old woman who has just lost her last family member. She is in a difficult situation, seeking loving homes for the family members six beloved cats. She feels it is no longer feasible for her to take them in due to her age and situation.

We could really use some help getting these cats into care.
This means we need forster homes with a spare room to keep them in, they can go in pairs or alone. They are spayed and neutered.

Someone is missing a cat, or intentionally let their cat out during the -30° weather we recently had.
At one of our heated feeding stations, ( NO we will not reveal the location), a new cat showed up, after a couple days it was noticed it was wearing a collar. The cat was staying and not leaving. Wr can't get near it just yet.
The pictures are not good, if you recognize this cat please let us know.

We know that some of you are feeling frustrated by what appears to be a lack of response from us.
Please be assured that we will respond to your messages and e-mails.when we can.
The reality is we simply don't have the time.
We are still receiving multiple calls daily for assistance, reviewing applications for adoption, and surrenders. Emergencies always take priority.
We only have one volunteer who monitors all our social media platforms and our email.
We only have one volunteer who books vet appointments and takes the animals there and back and one volunteer who sets up fundraising.

We have received volunteer applications but many people don't reply when.we reach out.

We have many animals and kittens for adoption, but simply don't have the time to post them.

We are behind on opening donations, thank-yous and Amazon packages. We are sincerely grateful for every donation we receive. The cats are especially greatful for thr new boxes. 😀

Pebbles is hard at work at Mountainview Pets & Supplies tonight showing off her biscuit making skills.

Blake is now ready for adoption. Age: approximately 2 Sex: Male neutered Blake was a stray in Hinton and some concerned citizens phoned us about him. They knew that his owners had moved and left him behind. When we took him in he was covered in wounds, old scars and had an upper respiratory infection. He has spent a couple months recovering in a foster home. Blake loves attention and giving hugs. We are unsure how he would do around dogs and other cays or children but if they are respectful and proper introductions are done, we don't see why he couldn't get along with any of them. ❣️ EMERGENCY FOSTER HOMES NEEDED❣️ We have a need for 5 EMERGENCY Foster homes. Then do you see what we see on this video? We are out trying to catch their mom ASAP as we were informed she is injured and has a "bad eye". We would also like to get these guys spayed and neutered and set up with houses for the winter. They do already have care takers. If anyone can help with dog houses that we can convert to feral cat shelters and straw, and the cost of spays and neuters please let us know. This sensory mat for children was donated to the kittens by Karin. It was an instant hit.

Enjoy this chaotic video of the orange kittens we rescued a few weeks ago. Currently they are thriving. Not ready for adoption yet.

Up until now we have not really shown any of the kittens in our care, as they were very sick. We know some people have questioned if we really have up to 50 cats and kittens in our care. We can assure you that we do. Many are feral, rescued while pregnant or just rescued from inhospitable situations and these cats are hard to get photos of. We are also a rescue and focus on rescuing not adoption. Most of the cats and kittens we rescue make their way to other rescues that have a higher population to adopt to. Here are some of our Kittens, now doing very well, except for a couple.
