Having waited several years for the timing to be right, in May 2020 I finally paid my deposit on a Miniature Dachshund puppy, at just a day old. Darcy came home eight long weeks later, and we've loved every minute since (she hasn't eaten anything valuable or deadly yet). I spent my puppy-prep time searching for small businesses I could support, and quickly acquired an affordable, high quality ward

robe for our new arrival. Since then, I have purchased a sewing machine and learnt to use it, experimented with a variety of patterns, techniques and fabrics, and was proud to launch Discovered by Darcy with a strong introductory range. Since our October 4th launch we have grown significantly, and continue to release unique and fun designs for you and your pup to enjoy! Late in October, we welcomed home our second puppy, Ember. She is a keen, cheeky assistant, carefully managing our quality control department and finally joining Darcy in the spotlight, taking part in her first campaign with the release of our Valentines 2021 collection. We are very excited to be integrating more of our baby girl into the DBD feed! Our products are handmade to order with you and your pup in mind; we consider appearance, longevity and safety in our manufacturing, and meticulous attention to detail throughout. We hope you'll stick around for our journey - we have so much planned! We frequently add new products to our permanent collection, as well as a host of holiday collections with unique fabrics to mark the occasion. After all, our pups are family, and it's only right they be part of the celebration! In short, we'd love if you'd consider us for your bandana needs. This business has been a labour of love, and the girls really like lamb treats (the expensive kind!).

Thank you all for an amazing week of lives 🙌🏻

We pride ourselves on fun community lives that are so much more than a sale, and this week was no different - chaotic, as usual! 😄 It has been so lovely to spend so much time just hanging out with you 🥰

We're now en-route to Cheshire, for a weekend with some of my favourites at Tatton Park. While I'm not exhibiting, if you see us please do say hello, it'd be so lovely to meet you and your dogs 🧡 (Don't worry, Darcy and Ember are happily sitting this one out 😅)

I've heard it's a wet one again, so I expect my outfit will include wellies and a softshell! 🙈

Growing up, I faced bullying related to my weight. Although I'm no longer the chubby child I once was, those experiences have left lasting feelings of discomfort in my own skin.

At events, I've been asked about our size range, often accompanied by self-deprecating remarks about being 'plus sized'. In those moments, I wish I could convey that I genuinely understand and am committed to ensuring you feel comfortable and confident in our products.

It's bittersweet that I announce we have exhibited at Dogfest for our final time 🐕We made the decision to cancel our remaining bookings with this company, and whilst I will hugely miss seeing you and your pups as regularly, this was the right choice for me and my business 🧡

I am so grateful to the Instadog community for your outpouring of support over this past month, it has meant the world 🌎

Hello 👋🏻Thank you for all of the supportive messages and patience over this past week - after taking some unexpected personal time, I am so grateful to you all for being so understanding as this impacted our lead times 🧡

Thank you for another incredible live, it was so lovely to introduce so many of you to my business and share a little about what makes us unique, as well as hearing so much about you and your pups, too!

We had a late night live drawing session, bringing some very special dogs to life - I hadn't realised how many of you would enjoy seeing that process in real time, or that had no idea I was creating the artwork behind our Canine Companions series! Drawing for the world to see can be pretty daunting, but it was so lovely to settle in with you all and get live feedback on how to make each portrait perfect 😋

Today is a making day, and I'll be sharing some peeks at your orders over on our stories - but I had to share my appreciation for the most incredible community, I cannot thank you enough. 🧡

Regretfully I have had to remove my post regarding this weekend's event - after I was threatened with legal action, I have decided that it is not worth the additional toll on my mental health and my business.

I do want to be clear that I feel putting our community first is always priority - Discovered by Darcy is proudly a safe and inclusive space.

I'm so sorry to anybody who missed out on visiting us, but I am looking forward to seeing you at our remaining pre-booked events. This will be our final year exhibiting at Dogfest.

I want to say an extra special thanks today to all who asked how my girls were coping at the dog shows 🐾It means the world to have built a community that care beyond the business, and that have become invested in our anxious dog journey 💛 Whilst AAD Newark was a challenging event, we have come home especially proud of Darcy and Ember, who acclimated well to a handful of relaxed pups that they got to spend time with - and even made friends with and 😋

This progress is such a huge step for us, and we're continuing to explore ways to make these events a safe and comfortable space for our girls, allowing them to take more positive experiences away from each and every one 🥰

(Not so) friendly reminder for the 'my dog is friendly' crowd 🥱Dog shows are a highly stimulating, enriching environment for so many dogs, with a healthy mix of socialising and sports to keep them engaged and happy 🐶

However, with so many unfamiliar dogs around, we encourage you to be vigilant when exploring the showground with your pup, and be aware of others. Many anxious or reactive pups are quite comfortable around other dogs provided their personal space is respected, making a dog show a healthy environment when proper care is taken ☺️

All of these stimulants can leave any dog with a slightly shorter fuse than usual, so please take extra care and show compassion for those around you, keeping these events safe and fun for everybody 🧡
