More of our litters finally posted!
Been waiting a long time to get these all in! We have 7 successful Dutch litter in the nest boxes of course by now they are a bit too big for the nest box and running around but will have to update soon! And two mini Rex litters at our Rabbitry!
Maple, Almond, Margret, Eden and Tralee are all first time moms and have all done great!
(Almonds two remaining babies had to be moved in with Maples litter due to unforeseen circumstances, but they are doing great now Maple’s doing amazing raising her own and her foster babies!)
Margret and Mando have our first generation of blues X chocolate breeding for lilacs and to our luck we had all black babies!😅 Will have to try their kits for a generation 2🤣.
Plus there is a lot of champion’s kits in this round of babies so hoping for some striking juniors for November shows!😍 Extremely excited to watch them grow up!🥰

☀️SARBA’s: Suns Out Buns Out Show June 3rd 2023.☀️
Back to last month’s show I finally will get to posting the few pictures I have of that fun weekend!
Was nice to get away to visit a few southern breeder friends and gets some more comments on the show string! So happy to see all the Dutch love this weekend! It got a few more honourable mentions again at the BIS awards getting soo close! One of these days will be our day!🤞
In our three shows Titan won two more BOB and BOVs. And Kronos beating him for one BOB and BOV. Then for the girls Eden won 2 BOS and BOV, and Tralee got a BOS and BOSV! And our lil Captain got all these pretty BOV ribbons for being the cutest choc!😂 Bonus! We got to play with our friends Netherland dwarf baby and he’s just so cute I just had to add him in!🥰

🎉Meet Ponyo’s new and unique litter! So happy to have a nest full of color she’s given us a black, blue and a Blue Tort! This is our first time producing a Blue tort! Which I do have to say that blue tort has truly made me fall in love with the color I almost like it more that the black torts🙈.
We also pretty much have every tort variation also now😅 black, chocolate and blue torts how fun! One day I’ll have to make up a separate post showing and explaining the difference in colors as you don’t see these non showable colors very often unless you have a tort gene in your buns!
I love watching this litter grow they have been so friendly and curious since day one, they will definitely be some nice brood stock to be one day!🥰

🎉We have our first successful tort litter of the year!!🎉
Nightingale has given us two torts that we might be able to finally take to a show! Along with a blue and blacks! There is so many colors and babies in this litter i was surprised she did so well being a first time mom again!

Finally litter introductions the cuties we’ve all be waiting to meet!! First off we have the lovely Cass with her gorgeous litter of chocolates!😍 Her and Mando really out did them selves on this breeding all are almost perfectly marked with beautiful color and best of all most of the litter appears to be females!! So excited to add these into my chocolate program later! Love love loveee these guys😍!

🎉Meet our newest addition: 🎉
Saltwater‘s Captian, we picked him up while at the Wild Rose Classic in May and have been loving his goofy and sweet personality ever since. ❤️ We will happily be adding him to our chocolate program in the next few months and show him for the next little bit as well! Huge thank you to Saltwater Rabbitry for sending this guy home with me❤️ we hope your enjoying Apollo as much as we do with Cap!

👋🏻Hello again everyone! Sorry for the inactivity recently, there is so much fun news to share with you all so hopefully I can get it all caught up in the next few days!
🌹But first as we left off with our Wild Rose Classic Show at Bruderheim Alberta May 12-14!🌹
I waited for show results so I could share the full details as it was such a fun and successful show with lots to be learnt and seen can’t wait to come back next year!❤️
So let’s dive in!
🌟What a big and busy weekend that was! I was overjoyed to meet up with close friends and other breeders again for the first show of the 2023 season! I even was able to throw in some pictures of our Dutch crew and mini Rex crew!🥰
Results of the show:
-Our steel buck Titan took home Best of Breed for show C and D! And Best of Variety show A.
-Our Junior steel buck Kronos took home Best of Breed for shows B, E, and F!👏🏻 so proud of our little guy for taking that title as a junior and going head to head agains his father and half siblings the whole weekend!
-Tralee our steel doe took home Best of Breed Opposite for shows C, E, and F!
-Eden our gray doe took home Best of Breed Opposite for shows B, and D!
- Our boy Flint also got a leg for Best of variety in show B while winning BOV in two other shows as well!
-We brought two chocolate does as well that went back and forth for variety so nice to know that my stock is fairly closely matched😅. (Andromeda and Almond).
-We also brought our lovely blue doe Margret who got BOV against her self all weekend judges still love her deep color and type but competition was tough this weekend!
Our boys Titan and Kronos both got some honourable mentions too which was super exciting for our Dutch!

I also had the pleasure of going to this show with my grandparents which I’m so happy to have supporting me and my crazy hobbies definitely was a special weekend!🥰
Congratulations to all other Breeders as well there was lots of amazing rabbits out there!🎉

Finally geting some baby bunny updates up! It’s been a busy start to this spring, but we are just about done calving and lambing! 🎉
As we prepare for our next big adventure back to bruderheim it’s been a busy time in the rabbit barn sorting through show rabbits and preparing our jrs for their first show!
We will have lots of adorable Dutch ready soon so stay tuned or feel free to pm us for more information !

⭐️Just The One!⭐️
We have a new addition to our Dutch herd! One singular kit from our older girl Gypsy! Plus it’s more of titan’s offspring and this lil guy looks good he’s quite hardy being in the nest all by his self and he’s the only kit outside being the first kit to be raised out side this year!

Eeeek! I’m so excited to introduce to you “Andy’s” beautiful litter she had with our home grown GC buck Rico! Been long awaiting for one of my chocolate does to have babies but sadly Cass and Hazel lost theirs just a few days before due date. Leaving Andy my last chance for chocolate babies this month!🥺 She has not disappointed with a full litter of 6 for this first time mom she is doing amazing! And the biggest suprise of them all is I’m pretty sure she has a whole bunch of lilacs in her litter!😱😍
Can’t wait to see what they grow up to be! Who knows maybe I’ll be the first to put a lilac on the table with these nice babies being that lilac is a recognized variety now!🤗🤩

⚡️Doubling up the Dutch again!⚡️
Two more new litters just in time for the Easter holiday what a happy surprise! Our lovely home grown GC is a father again to an adorable litter of buns one of which I believe will be a nice blue how sweet!
Also another re breeding between Titan and Irish ! We are really trying for a doe out of this pair😂🤞. Irish only has three little beans but made a nest big enough to share with all the mommas in the barn!😳
❤️ Here’s to hoping they all grow up full and healthy and may the gender fairy bring us does! 🤗✨🧚🏻‍♀️✨

⚡️✌🏻Double Dutch! ✌🏻⚡️
Two litters on the same day I wish all my breedings could line up that perfect! After another long awaited breeding we have Solar and Zoomies babies to introduce to everyone!

Firstly we had Zoomie and Jetts first litter ! First time mom and dad did great had a sweet little litter of 4.
Then we have Solar and Titans litter! A pairing I’ve been waiting all fall to spring here for! And boy am I happy with the results! Another high hopes show litter these guys came out looking good and chunky plus mommas taking great care of them !😍
Can’t wait to see how they grow out! We are just loving these early spring litters even tho it’s definitely been a lot harder to care for! Big thanks to all my supports for keeping me going on the hard times and my family for having a warm place for them to all stay!🥰

✨After a long wait of trying we finally have a litter from Teal and Flinty! ✨
Our show barn royalty SW’s Teal (2022’s grand champion and steady BOB winner) and PRV’s Flint (2022’s BOBOs winner) paired together for an amazing line of show Dutch jrs.😍
Will be watching these cuties very closely! Have high hopes with this line pairing! Can’t wait till they hit the show table this spring!
Beyond happy with our first time momma teal! She’s doing great with full happy babies and shes been amazing with being calm and friendly through it all!❤️😍🥰

This is Lunas 3rd litter for us but she definitely is getting better with time, such a very good momma with plump full babies all the time!

Hello again everyone! Sorry for the inactivity! This year has started off extremely busy! Between our livestock and farm to the very busy Rabbitry with lots of new changes, upgrades and of course breedings and litters! I’ll try and catch the page up today while I’ve got a bit of time!😂 Stay tuned for more!
So first I’ll officially introduce our Holland lop litters from around Christmas time! So happy to have had a full litter of chocolates and silver Martains and a seal! Luna and Molly definitely out did them selfs producing two beautiful litters of bright and colourful, friendly, goofy, and loving babies! Super excited to see them go to their own families.
Would make the perfect edition with there adorable personalities and fully litter trained house manners.☺️

We are proud to finnaly introduce you to our new breed! The ENGLISH SPOT!!🐇
I’ve been wanting to work with this breed since I first started showing! Beyond excited to start breeding and showing more English spots and bring more running breeds into our area! I believe our Spots makes them the first, which means we are the only Rabbitry breeding a running breed or Espots in Saskatchewan!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 How Exciting!!
I want to give a huge thanks to Turning Willow Rabbitry. For all the hard work she’s put into raising this breed and for all the trouble she went through organizing and transporting them to Edmonton for me! Amazing breeder, definitely didn’t disappoint! Sold me some amazing rabbits that definitely have some solid lines behind them to be going home with as many ribbons as we did😂😜.
Hoping to post lots about this breed for all to learn and some educational points on running breed rabbits in general! Will be a big learning curve for me as well to go from my compact posed breeds to arch types running the table!

Hoping for a blue litter over the winter here otherwise will be breeding in the spring for spots! Breeding for show and to better the breed in Canada!🥰

Finally our farm fair show post! Been so busy here at PVR and our farm since the first snow fall that I’ve hardly had a minute to share all the exciting new things and awards the rabbitry has gotten!
*Farm Fair- Nov 11-12. @ Edmonton AB Expo*
The Farm Fair weekend was definitely a wild weekend I’ll never forget, it was our first time being at the farm fair and our second “cooped show” although we had so many lovely breeders show that the whole room was filled too to bottom with rabbits of all kinds!
Very proud of all our rabbits we took along! Did very well was hoping to of brought more but the car was full on the way home of new additions and transports!😂
Now as for the results!!
Dutch:
~Our boy SW’s Jett (sr) took BOSB in show A!
~Our bottle baby Margret (jr) got BOSB in show B and even got some honourable mentions at the best in show so proud of our little home grown! Can’t wait till she’s a bit older!
~ And our lovely GC sr doe SW’s Teal took Best of Breed for show D! What a great ending to the weekend and last victory before her show retirement! She’s going to start making some amazing litters for spring now that her showing career is fulfilled!
Was so fun to have some new breeders join us as well as one of the judges Dutch to compete against! So happy to have still took a stand in the competition looking forward to next year as I’ve build the herd up and have big plans for breedings!!
Mini Rex:
~SLATER: Oh boy was this little guy fun to watch at the show weekend! He was our only mini Rex able to come to the show due to some unforeseen incidents with our original show string but I’ve definitely had an eye on him! He turned out growing very nice and we took him to two shows and he’s done good! At farm fair he got 1 Best of Variety in show B, 2nd in show C, and 3rd in both A+D. Lots of good comments and lots of different thoughts and placings through out this big stressful show lol.

If it wasn’t obvious the photo dump has a lot of spotty looking rabbits..🤔 …That’s because we’ve gotten into a new breed!! And this was their day view ! I’ll have more of a post about them and introducing them shortly but I’ll include their results below:

Prairie Rabbit Club’s Estevan Show:
Was so fun to try out a new area and club! Finally getting around to my show updates! It was a long trip down there and back but came home with some very good comments and support from the showing community. The Dutch especially had everyone talking as they did so well on the table, lots of great comments coming to my homegrowns and the tight competition my Jr’s were giving the Sr’s!
Super proud of my stock! Even tho the night before my best doe decided to blow her lovely coat 🤦🏻‍♀️.
So here’s the results!!
In show A&B results were pretty consistent
SW’s Teal won Best of Breed both shows even with her starting to molt🤦🏻‍♀️😅.
PVR’s Flint won Best of Opposite Breed in both show A&B!
Our junior buck PVR’s Spade was very close in making a title but doesn’t quite have the maturity yet that our seniors did. Not bad for Our own homegrown GC Rico’s first litter!
Plus Rico’s half sisters Elizabeth and Margaret were getting lots of loving comments dispite being the youngest pair on the table!

We took some Mini Rex in as well, sadly it was not our first string show stock but our second picks due to our best does being out for the weekend. But they still did quite well just didn’t have what it took to get any large placings.
Slater did a lot of growing since I last posted our blacks I was impressed by his growth and he did end up placing above Perry even with Best of Group and Best of Variety!

Been holding off updating about Checkers litter.. the last litter before the winter season I find is always the most tough to raise up, it’s a strange time for weather and anything’s possible but these little troupers have been pushing through it since day one. Happy to still have some babies around! I can’t wait to get into a heated barn/shop this year for a better chance at some good winter litters from my does!

Mini Rex show Prospects:
Here’s my select of this years Mini Rex juniors!
I reintroduced everyone to Pudge, Puff and Perry. (My junior does.) Very excited to take Pudge to another show and finish growing out the other young juniors and have then hit the table as well and see how they do!
I had a large precent of does this year for once, and the few bucks this year just couldn’t beat the girls.😅

Here’s our litter catch up! 3 Mini Rex, 1 Dutch and our first Holland lop litter of the year at PVR, thanks to Hot Crossed Buns Rabbitry for giving us our new girl Basil (nick named Luna)!
Most are weaned now and some are ready to move on but I thought it would still be cute to share the baby photos and how they’ve grown!

What it really looks like at a rabbit show:
I always try to take lots of photos at shows from my perspective but I came across some photos from the newspaper photographer that showcase a different view of the show!
I absolutely love this it truly shows how much care we put into our animals and how happy and careful we are when we bring them up to the table it’s more than just another show. Not all pets are show animals but all show animals are pets first. Breeders like me are always so open to share their knowledge and love of bunnies to the public, it’s amazing how many smiles the rabbit shows bring to these big events! There’s always so many happy and friendly faces to see in the rabbit community it’s truely a special hobby to be in!❤️☺️

*Edmonton Alberta’s K-Days show! July 30th and 31st 2022*
Finally able to get these babies showed off for there hard work! This was the Juniors first show and they did beyond amazing, especially for being a large p***c show with lots of people!
~Our girl Teal, our new blue Dutch took Best of Breed in all four shows! She was gorgeous in her shining blue coat and the judges were loving her deep color, she even got a few honourable mentions at the BIS + RIS announcements!
~Sweet baby Pudge was a favourite around the show room with her adorable personality and lovely type! Even tho she was the only girl to show up vs all them boys she was very very close second and came home with 4 Best of Opposite Breed!

~ Jett & Flyy these two boys battled it out for Best of Opposite back and forth all weekend! They just couldn’t beat their sister Teal!

My young home growns we not far behind just were a tad to baby typed to beat these Mature cuties this trip! Hoping for a better show next time now that everyone’s had a chance to really grow into their prime.
Was a great show came home with lots of ribbons, chocolates, new friends and customers!
You’ll notice a few fresh faces coming into the barn as well that I’ll be showing off later on in another post so stay tuned for a friendly introduction of the new stock!!
