We are a full service dog and cat grooming shop located in Ilderton Ontario.
We’ve worked hard to create an atmosphere that your dogs and cats enjoy spending time at. Post groom, we are often found cuddling on the couch with your fur babies. We take pride in our force free approach to grooming. We are a crate free shop that puts the happiness and well being of your pet first. We promise to always treat your fur baby like our own.
A little about us. Rachel and Leigh met at Northern College in 2014 where they received certificates - with honours- in Veterinary Assistant and Animal Grooming. Over the years we have worked at veterinary clinics, grooming shops, pet stores and shelters. This has given us experience with many different kinds of dogs and an in-depth knowledge of animal behaviour. In 2016 while working together in a grooming shop we came up with the idea of Muddy Paws. We wanted to build a space where pets felt comfortable. Too often we were seeing dogs act out due to the high stress environment. Our goal was to create a space dogs love, to work with them instead of against them and make grooming a positive experience.
In December 2016 we took a chance and opened Muddy Paws with 0 clients. Two years later we have over 600 amazing clients and we couldn’t be more thankful for the support they have shown us.
About Muddy Paws.
Hours:
Currently we are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 10am and book by appointment only. We don’t have set hours, and depending on the time of year we are open different days. We do this so we are able to better fit your schedule.
Dog Grooming Appointments:
Appointments last an hour and half to two hours. If for some reason you can’t pick your dog up in that time frame let us know prior to booking the appointment. Generally there are around 2-3 dogs in the grooming shop at one time, Fridays and Saturdays are usually busier than most days so if your dog does not like other dogs or is high stress please let us know so we can book your pup in when the shop is a bit slower. Pricing is based on breed, size, coat condition and temperament.
Puppy Grooming Appointments:
Congratulations you’ve added a new member to your family ! Whether it be a lab, shihtzu, golden doodle or chihuahua it’s time to start thinking about grooming. We encourage you to bring your dog in within the first couple weeks of bringing them home. On a puppies first visit we do what we call a puppy groom. This ranges from $20-25 and includes a bath, blow dry, brush out, nail trim, trimming around the bum, feet and face. Dogs have to be groomed their entire lives, by starting early this encourages a positive relationship with grooming. Puppy grooms’ main focus is for the pup to have fun while learning the grooming process.
Cat Grooming Appointments :
We are one of the few grooming shops who offer cat grooming. Cats can be very high stress so we always make sure we have a dog free shop and both groomers are available for when cats come to visit. Can grooms general take an hour and we ask that you bring your cat in a carrier. This is for the safety of your fur baby.
