We have (in very limited quantities), rhubarb, fresh dill and cilantro, strawberries and haskap berries. When researching the price of haskaps in Ontario, they were over $27 a pound! A teeny tiny basket was $9.00 YIKES! Ours are nowhere near that expensive, but we do not have that many.

The baby apples are doing great and we're hopeful for a wonderful fall full of apples!

If you stop by, be sure to walk down the road to our barn and say OINK to our super-cute, 3-week-old KuneKune piglets!!

Looking for something to do today? The two choirs I direct (the Frontenac Women's Chorus and the Melodia Chamber Choir) are performing a Fundraising Concert for the South Frontenac Community Association today at 2:30pm! Children 16 and under are free; all others are $25 payable at the door. Location: Harrowsmith Methodist Church. Come join us for a fun-fulfilled afternoon of music and help raise much needed $$ for the SFCSA.

FRESH, ORGANIC apple cider just pressed! On Monday it will all be flash frozen, but until then, our fridges (and two of our freezers) are full! Cider keeps indefinitely when frozen. Fresh, unfrozen cider, stays delish in a cold fridge for up to a week. Pop on over to our Farm Store to grab yours today! Our prices have not increased - still only $5 for a 1 litre jug, and $10 for a 2 litre jug.

Only a few bags of "Almost Good Enough" processing apples and regular "People Apples" left for this season! Lots of innovative and fun apple products in our Farm Store are available.

We'll be pressing our award-winning cider this week. If you would like to pre-order cider fresh (not frozen), just send an email to stella@heritage-orchard. We flash freeze our cider once pressed but some like it "right off the press".

We're all set for our Open Farms Day tomorrow! Although our UPick is not available, we will have limited bags of "people apples" and "processing apples" bagged up and ready in our store! Free samples of our award-winning cider will be waiting for you. The animals are prepped for petting, our hiking trails are groomed, and there will be old-fashioned hay elevator demonstrations ongoing throughout the day. OH - and of course - my Mini Donut Station will be pumping out homemade donuts! I've developed my own recipe this year so I need lots of taste testers :)

We will be open from 10:30 - 4:30; see you then!

APPLE SEASON UPDATE - we are so sad to report that, due to an almost complete crop failure in our main orchard, we will not be offering a UPick this fall. We will have "already picked" bagged-up apples in our Farm Store in limited quantities and, of course, our award-winning apple cider!

Look what we have! After 3 years of "growing", our organic strawberry patch is bursting with berries. We also have a small supply of haskaps - these little berries pack a punch of tart flavour combined with super-high nutrients. Pre-picked and waiting for your in our Egg Fridge :)

Spring is here! Our chickens are back in full laying mode and our "one dozen per family" limit has been removed. Our prices have NOT increased. We look forward to seeing all our neighbourly egg-lovers again after such a long winter!

FUN NEWS - our cider was just awarded 3rd place in the 2023 Ontario Cider Competition! This was our first time entering this competition, and we are very pleased to have been chosen!

Fresh Cider just pressed! Our famous organic apple cider is now being made - the fridges are full, so pop by and stock up. After two days, we freeze all the cider but until then, fresh and un-frozen is available. We have NOT increased our prices - still only $10/2 litre jug. See you soon !

Our LAST UPICK DAY is this Saturday, October 1. The apples are up high, but we've got picking poles for that!

And did someone say CIDER? ANNOUNCING our 2nd Annual Heritage Cider Day on Monday, October 10 from 10:30 - 4:00. Fresh cider, mulled cider, mini donuts, a bouncy castle for the kids, free goody bags and lots more to do at our farm. Come and walk off some of that turkey dinner!!

By Popular Request - "almost good enough" apples - great for processing (sauce, pies, jam, etc) but definitely not the most beautiful! A huge bag is 1/2 price of our ready-picked perfect apples. Yup - they are gonna have bumps, bruises, blemishes and maybe even a tiny bug (EEP) but that is what it means to be an organic apple!!

12 lb bags are hanging out in our Fun Fridge and will be available daily.

FRESH CORN - organic, sweet and wonderful! Very limited amounts available, and on a "message me today and pick it up tonight" basis! The best way to have corn is to eat it within hours of it being picked. Send us an email or FB message with how many ears you would like at $1.00 each.

It's Blossom Time! Our trees are bursting into bloom. Come stroll our orchards anytime over the next 5 days and enjoy the beauty of spring. It's magical standing under an apple tree covered in petals, gazing up at the sky, peeking through scented branches. We're not having a formal event or anything - just an invite to share the beauty. Perhaps you'll choose a favourite tree that you'd like to pick apples from in the fall!

We would like to introduce Tanya, Pavlo, Sofiia and Serhii to everyone! They are a family from Ukraine that we have sponsored. The family arrived on April 21, are past their quarantine requirements and are gradually settling in. The children have started attending Perth Road Elementary School. A huge thank you to so many of our friends and community members who provided generous donations to assist the family in their move to Canada. When you visit us, you will likely meet Pavlo who has a farm background and is helping us out daily. Tanya makes amazing traditional Ukrainian dumplings and perogies - hopefully you'll find them at our Farm Gate Store in the near future! WELCOME!!

Loughborough Orchard on a frosty February day. Apple trees are pruned in the winter while the trees are sleeping. Pruning invigorates the trees while bringing in the sun and driving out disease. As soon as maple syrup season is over, our trees will being to leaf out; hoping for beautiful blooms in May!

With the turning of the sun, we are happy to report that our hens have started laying again! Our "1 dozen per family" limit is now lifted so come on by anytime for fresh farm eggs.

If you are bringing little ones to our Heritage Cider Day on Saturday, dress 'em up in their Hallowe'en costumes because we've got tricks AND treats for them ! Worried about the weather? There will be a large tent on site just in case the rain tries to water down the cider! We're looking forward to seeing you and your family.
