** Road Update **
I drove down this morning to the Cabot Trail and back (with our 4x4 truck) and was able to manage the road without issue (staying on the edge).
HOWEVER - I noticed my hubby had a little slip and slide (on the actual paved road that is maintained) this morning as he made his way out for work with his service van (I saw his tracks) and it confirmed to me I would NOT attempt with my own vehicle (that is not 4 wheel drive).

came through with a little salt splatter yesterday (raise your hand if you're the secret ANGEL!!!) 👋 ♡ and it made a huge difference for the better.
Now with more snow on the ground it also helps with a layer of traction.

I still feel uneasy about customers coming in/out, especially if they don't have 4x4 and/or not familiar with our road and/or not confident driving back roads. So I will assess with each appointment, each day and reach out.

I LOVE winter, but not when it affects business. Is it spring yet ? 😜

I do, however, get pings of heart pain once in awhile, remembering my Ontario 🐾 pals. I love everything about Cape Breton Island I wouldn't trade this world for anything, but sometimes a new dog comes into my life that will remind me of a friend from yester-year and I can get major nostalgia.

Good Morning Dog Lovers!
We can hardly believe November is over already, wowza! Here is an update as we creep into our holiday & winter months.

Currently:
We are FULL in all departments (Grooming, Daycare & Extended Boarding) effective now until January 24th ---> we have a cancellation list if you would like to be on standby for last minute changes.
Please note: If you're considering a winter vacation please do not hesitate reserving your pup(s) as spaces are filling up FAST !! This includes March Break which is nearly full already.

ALSO: a reminder that Bethoney's last day at Tail's Inn is February 28th, 2023 (🥺) thence Neely will take over. We will be sending out emails (as well as provide updates here on fb) in the New Year, keeping you in the loop as the transition takes place. Neely will officially take over as the Tails Inn contact/owner/operator on March 1st, 2023 and we will provide all of her information to you (as well as new/renewal paperwork to update her files with current authorizations). The transition will begin mid-January, watch for our emails !!
You may reach out to Bethoney, as always, in the meantime if you have any questions or concerns.

I'm sharing this video for a few reasons:
🐾❤
1) as proof it only seems like mayhem when you arrive ... because you need to ring the doorbell, lol. This is their "home away from home" so they bark like they would at home when someone comes to the door. In reality, it can be very quiet and calm with playful sounds, some barking when appropriate. Hyper dogs are with hyper dogs (calm with calm) and that kind of noise is music to my ears. I love a happy, playful pooch. But how lovely is this quiet bunch for a Sunday morning?

2) just showing a beautiful day after a lovely thunderstorm. I love how fresh everything smells, looks and feels after a good rain shower. Heat and muggy are up next (so the weatherperson says), the a/c is flipped on.

And 3) I thought Rocket was cute in this video, he torments the dogs from time to time but I don't think he does it intentionally. He literally loves dogs (and seems smart enough to know which dogs won't be friends with him). I think Thor would love him as a toy.
