Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It was so nice spending my 28th birthday with all the Pups. The BBQ party was a success, and everyone enjoyed their lunches. Thank you to everyone who helped out.
We did hotdogs, and goat milk cocktails.

Reminder that we close tonight tonight at 630pm! It is the last Monday we are closing early!!

It does not have to be a huge time commitment. Even fostering once a year is a great help, and saves one precious life.

Our food bank schedule and location remain unchanged.

In addition to our regular services we will be partnering with CDART: Central BC as needed while they are set up to accept evacuated animals in Kamloops.

As in previous years we do our best to provide outreach to evacuees both in town and outlying areas. We do not provide supplies unless requested and we are very deliberate in how we allocate resources, so they go to the place of greatest need.

Let’s keep on doing our best to take care of each other and spread kindness, it’s needed more than ever. We know animals feel the stress too, so let’s help lower that stress wherever possible.

Adopt a puppy!! 3 free days of daycare if you adopt one!!!

Puppy Love Overload!

We did a thing…… We have opened up our home to Dixie and her 10 yes I said 10 puppies. We got them a week ago and are just coming up for air now. These 5-week-old puppies are Lab, Australian Shepherd, Heeler, mixes ( and maybe a little bit of something else)....also known as a Heinz 57. I think maybe some hound or boxer. We will see as they start to get bigger.

It's been some time since I looked after puppies so we're learning as we go. I have to admit it's probably more work than I thought it was going to be however getting to watch these little puppies thrive, learn and explore has been a lot of fun for myself, Troy, Erik and Ryan. My 2 boys might not agree with that statement as they are in the trenches with us cleaning up after these little mess makers. Watching their little personalities develop is quite interesting to watch. "Haly"pino has earned her name as she is quite spicy and well Goose should have been called Moose...he a big ole boy! Wally is short for Walter as he is a little old man...the first to go to sleep all the time. The Mom gets along well with Mya and the cat so that has been nice as it makes it easier for us to cohabitate. The cat is quite happy to get the scraps after the puppies have finished.

Things I have learned in the last week
- Puppies have very bad aim when it comes to a p*e pad.
- Their bladders are the size of a small toddler
- I am a mad scientist in the kitchen with food concoctions to play catch up on their nutrition.
- They have extremely strong upper body strength when it comes to getting over barriers.
- Never lie down on the ground with 10 puppies…. I may have a new ear piercing from the needle-like teeth.
- Trying to get pictures of 5 week old puppies is like herding cats!
- People are so generous with their time….I have picked a lot of brains this week to get up to sp*ed on how to look after this group of Ten little needle-teethed land sharks. SSoletree Poodles NNicole Langlands-Kotnik- The Humane Society is an amazing organization getting these little ones to me and supporting them while they are here.

These little ones and the mom will be up for adoption at 8 weeks old. You will need to apply to the Kamloops Humane Society if you are interested in adopting one of these little cuties.

We are adjusting some things to help with this week's heat. Please make sure to have your dog here between the drop off time of 730-9am. The earlier I can start the groups the better. If your dog doesn't do well in the heat please keep them home for their safety.
We be closing at 6pm instead of 7pm. If this is an issue please let me know. You can pick up between 12pm - 6pm. I will be keeping all lights off and door locked so please ring doorbell. Just a reminder to wait outside, or in your car until the office is free unless I wave you in! Some dogs do not like strangers. If you have any questions or concerns please send me a text. Thanks

I am a little worried about next week. If your dog doesn't do well with the heat I recommend rescheduling. I do have a/c but with those temperatures I'm unsure if it can keep up. I will try and keep everyone updated. Hoping the temperatures drop a bit. 🤞💙🧡

CLIENTS PLEASE READ
The schedule for the next 2 months has opened up. If you'd like to be booked in for daycare please send us a message.

Couple notes to make, with the summer months coming in quick, I know most you will have summer plans. If you are planning to miss some days of daycare please let me know as soon as you can if your dog will not be coming. I find in the summer time we get a spike of no shows or last minute cancelations. Just a reminder, we do charge for no shows and late cancelations. We will have to enforce this more if it becomes a problem again.

Kamloops unfortunately has very hot summers.. I don't do well in the heat and neither do the dogs. If you don't think your dog can handle the heat on extra hot days please keep them at home. While we do have air conditioning, I find when it hits over 35° the air conditioning can't keep up. If it gets around this temperature we may have to take the day off. We will do our best to let all clients know sooner rather then later.

We are currently accepting dogs for overnight boarding. We are only allowing current clients to be boarded. If you need boarding during the summer please let me know. We do not offer pick up or drop off on Sundays. And we do have a couple closures during the summer months.

On June 22nd we will be closing early at 5pm to do some repairs in the back.

Thank you to all my clients again for allowing us to close for our wedding. We had such a wonderful time. I will post some pictures once we receive them. 💙🧡
