If you are considering entering the states with your pet this summer, there are new regulations in place starting August 1st. If you have any questions, the CDC DogBot can help guide you through the process.

Starting on August 1, all dogs entering the U.S. (including those that left the U.S. and are returning, and regardless of the country they are coming from) must be:
• healthy upon arrival
• at least 6 months of age
• microchipped
• accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form receipt and required vaccination and veterinary documents.

Additional requirements may apply depending on where the dog has been in the last 6 months and whether or not the dog was vaccinated in the United States.

We are so excited to announce that as of July 1st, we will be opening late on Wednesday and Thursday to 8pm! Our new hours will be Monday and Tuesday 8-5, Wednesday, Thursday 8-8 and Friday 8-5. We will be closing Saturdays, which allows our staff to have a greatly improved work/life balance and give much more availability for surgery, dentistry and appointments during the week!

Wilson, who is wearing his brand new Bird Be Safe Collar, is heading out for a stroll in the back yard. Spring is here, and there are so many birds arriving daily. These collars really help prevent cats killing birds, reducing predation of birds by up to 87%! Cats really don't mind the collar, (Wilson is totally cool with his) and if you would like to pick one up for your cat, they are available here at Aberdeen Vet, at Kamloops Vet Clinic, and at the Wild Birds Unlimited Store on Tranquille. Purchase price is by donation to the Kamloops Naturalist Club with all proceeds going to funding the Bluebird boxes!

We are so excited to announce that Kamloops’ first 24 hour Veterinary Emergency Hospital, Phases, is open and ready to take over emergency vet care from the Kamloops Veterinary On Call Group! With this news, our after hours care and emergency cases will be forwarded to Phases and there will no longer be a veterinarian on call after 5 p.m. or on weekends. We will be posting more information as we make the transition away from the On Call Group. Congratulations , and thank you for providing these much needed services to Kamloops!

NOTICE of NEW CANCELLATION POLICY Dear Pet Parents, it is our goal to provide timely care for you and your pet.

We are very busy, and our clients sometimes wait a week or more to get an appointment. It is very frustrating for all when an appointment is booked and no one shows up, because this appointment could have been used for someone who is waiting.

Due to a large increase in the number of people not showing up for their appointments without notifying us, we are forced to implement the following:

If you do not show up for your appointment without
any communication with us, you may be subject to a
charge that is equivalent to 50% of the exam fee.


We understand that things come up last minute and you may need to reschedule, but 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment would be appreciated. Reminder emails are sent out prior to all appointments. If you prefer another form of communication for reminders, please let us know.

We regret the necessity of this enforcement. Many people who are turned away or delayed in getting an appointment, would have happily used the vacant appointment slot.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
