one final note from Sara : well, today is the day that Cheryl takes over. This has definitely been a rush of emotions but I’m pretty proud to say I did it and met all of you in the process. ⚠️⚠️NEW OWNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT ⚠️

Hello everyone! It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Shear Furfection Dog Salon will be under new ownership as of june 7, 2022. I have made the difficult decision to do what's best for our family and stay home with our baby Madison who was born in September, as my partner's work schedule is too difficult for us to work around without daycare. While it wasn't my plan to leave on such short notice, that is what works out best for new groomer Cheryl as she is moving in from Saskatchewan to take over SFDS. Here is her biography:
Hi my Name is Cheryl Wyder. I've been grooming for 22 years certified in Woodstock,Ontario. I started out in the Min Schnauzer world and owned mainly terriers all my life. I currently own Kerry blue terriers and Wire Fox’s and co-own and breed West Highland White terriers. I’m proficient in hand stripping, show grooming, and pet grooming of all breeds big and small. Looking forward to meeting your furry friends!

If you have an appointment scheduled with me from now until June 7 the appointment will remain and I will still groom your dog. However, after June 7 if you would like to give Cheryl a try she is keeping all appointments the same unless it is on a Sunday, in which case she will contact you to rearrange when she takes over. Unfortunately I do not have any extra room to add on appointments before I leave.

There are lots of appointment slots to fill as Cheryl will be working Monday-Saturday so if you would like an appointment booked with her please reach out. The phone # will remain the same.

I really appreciate all of your past business and will miss all of my clients.. Your pets honestly have become a part of my family and I've loved them so much over the years. I will no longer be offering any kind of grooming services in the near future, although one day when our little ones are in school I hope that may change. This is truly upsetting to me as this was my dream, although I do have to take care of my family at this time. I wish you all the best of luck (including your pets of course!) and I leave you in Cheryl's capable hands. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Shear Furfection Dog Salon is looking to add a full time groomer to our team!

We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable and comfortable with all breeds & sizes with the ability to groom several dogs per day, with a compassionate and gentle touch. Must have your own tools. Come work in a fun and supportive salon environment!

Ideally all long haired dogs, especially curly coated/ poodles/poodle crosses, need to be on a regular grooming schedule to keep their coats knot-free and in good condition. They do have high maintenance coats unfortunately and when they do get matted this can cause the dog stress due to the matts pulling at the skin and the only humane thing we can do is to shave them short to relieve this. The longer you want to keep your dogs hair, the more often they need to be professionally groomed and brushed at home. I hope this helps 🐾
