REKALLERS! Winter is the perfect time to start teaching your dog to come when called, as it's best to start small (hallways, yards, etc).
There are a couple of spots left in the upcoming REKALLERS class, starting February 8th. There are only 3 weekly classes in the set because we only work on coming when called. **FULL** And just like that, it's full again. However, there is still room in the very popular REKALLERS class starting January 18th. It's only 3 weekly classes because we are only training the one, and most important of all skills - RECALLS (coming when called.

Winter agility classes are now on 5 Star's website. These advanced/masters handling classes are for dogs who've been in 5 Star classes before. Class spots are VERY limited. AGILITY CLASSES! Winter barn classes are starting soon. 5 Star's classes will be advanced/masters level and are available for people who've trained with 5 Star in the past. I am working on the schedule now, and hope to have enrollment available in the next couple of days, so please check the website and enroll from there.

CLASSES start October 19th and class spots are almost gone. There are 3 classes available. One is full, and the other two classes have only 2 spots available each. BASIC SKILLS AND MANNERS classes are suitable for all ages of dogs (pups must have 2 puppy shots prior to start of class). Here’s something worthwhile for dog owners, as well as people working in the pet industry, from the Professional Animal Care and Training Association of B.C:

We are hosting an event via Zoom on Sept. 20th called Are They Having Fun? Identifying Appropriate Dog-Dog Play.

Join Christina Young, professional dog trainer and behaviour consultant, for an interactive learning event about dog-to-dog play. We'll dig into questions such as:
• What does appropriate play look like?
• How do you tell if play is fun for both dogs?
• When is it too rough?
• When should we intervene?
• What are the qualities of a good playmate for your dog?
We will watch videos, discuss body language, and learn tips to help our dogs have fun together.

BASIC SKILLS AND MANNERS classes start October 19th.

REGISTRATION will be available on 5 Star's website on Monday afternoon, September 4th. First come, first served.

I am offering 3 classes, all Basic Skills and Manners classes, for all ages of dogs. Puppies must have 2 puppy shots by start date. Times are: Thursdays at 4:30, 5:15 or 6:30 p.m. October 19, 26, November 2, 9, 23, 30 (no class November 16).

5 STAR DOG TRAINING CLASSSES COMING! 2023 has been a difficult year which resulted in 5 Star's popular classes to be put on hold for most of the year. However, NEW CLASSES are being scheduled to start in mid October.

Basic Skills and Manners classes are appropriate for all ages of dogs, even young puppies once they've had 2 puppy shots.

Check 5 Star Dog Training's website after labor day weekend for registration information.
