This 14.2 HH 5 year old registered Paint mare, Honeys Spring Jewel (known around the barn as “Chica”), is a horse that we can't say enough good things about. Chica’s disposition is second to none and she is a true pleasure to work with and be around. She loves to go to work and will meet you at the gate every time. She is flashy, versatile and athletic, and has lovely, balanced movement. With her great conformation and feet, she is built to last! We have been able to leave her barefoot, even when we're putting on lots of miles.
Chica is one of those super horses who can do anything and will excel in just about any discipline you choose – jumpers, eventing, games, barrels, reining, trail, endurance, ranch work or just as a great family horse. She has some “get-up-and-go”, yet is easy to handle and really fun to ride. She does automatic flying lead changes and has wonderful forward impulsion, yet she's safe and straightforward enough to put beginners on. This mare has a ton of heart and could be a serious competitor. She is also the kind of horse that a kid would love to own and could do everything with.
At 14.2 hh, Chica is technically a pony (just), yet with her type of build she is big enough for most adults. She's great out on the trails and is good with traffic, water, trailer loading, tying, clipping, bathing, and farrier. She doesn't have any vices and has always been really sound.
Chica is currently part of our herd at Heartwood Horses.
