We went shopping in the business freezers 🛒 !!!

Our vet said Piper weighs too much. We know, but we have had a never ending battle with her weight since she got spayed 😞. We cut her food to 1.3%, give her 2hr of off leash walks every day and she gains!

Sooo - Not only are we dropping her daily portions to 1% 🫣 we are cutting the fat content to under 4% 😧

• Quail Dinner 4% fat
• Venison Dinner 3% fat
• Turkey Dinner 4% fat
• Kangaroo Plus 2% fat

Did you know these meds don’t deter fleas and ticks but rather kill the pest once it has bitten and drank your pets blood?! How does that work? Frankly, it means your pets blood is poison thanks to the meds continuously running through their system😵. This poison has very serious negative effects including life long seizure conditions and even death. These medications are being called to action in their side effects to our pets and the negative health conditions that are occurring.

If fleas and ticks are a concern in your neighbourhood than consider using an Ultra Sonic deterrent rather than a poisonous medication!!

They are cheaper than the medications. They last longer than the medications. They are 100% safer than the medications. They are a no brainer 🙌

Positive note:
The flea and tick medication companies have been under scrutiny for years. Lately there has been new and old information being brought to light and not a positive one for the massive companies that pump these meds out. There are lawsuits currently in place to pull these medications from production. Let’s hope they are successful 🤞🤞

Another very successful year at the Bubba Open! 👏

HUGE shout out to Bubba for spending countless hours organizing and hosting to raise funds for Paws it Forward and Alley Cats.

Thank you to all of the businesses and participants that allowed this day to be a huge success.

A total of $14175 was raised and $10,000 is coming to Paws it Forward. 😲

Fittingly, Cash went to collect the cash with his foster momma! We are hoping to find his furever home soon!

Not all raw is equal!!! If you’ve ever had a conversation with me you’ve heard me say “there are dirty secrets in the raw world just like in the kibble world!”

The extremely knowledgable owners of in Calgary hit the nail on the head with this video 🙇‍♀️. Watch and listen!!

These companies make their way to the Okanagan from Alberta and the Lower Mainland. But the reasoning explained in this video is the same I use when I have discussions with local raw feeders who insist their dogs are ‘thriving on these companies’ … they aren’t thriving!!!

Unbalanced raw that you don’t know the sourcing of or the true ingredients of or any kind of guaranteed a**lysis at the bare minimum are just as bad as low quality kibble in my opinion.

I price checked all of the reputable companies available to us here in Kelowna and WOW 🤩 Big Country Raw deserve huge kudos. Not only do they produce top quality products and a lot of them! , but they also come out as the most affordable of the bunch!! 👌

Ever Forget To Take Out Food for Dinner ?? 🥴

I use this more often than I’d like to admit 🙊

I don’t know how this simple, lightweight little tray does it but it is a life saver 🙌

Pet food or human food, this tray saves you from having to put it in the microwave to defrost (always my last resort).

2021 has been a heck of a year for us!!
A ton of new customers ❤️
A ton of doggy snuggles ❤️
A few more freezers added lol
But most exciting was how we were able to contribute to our favourite nonprofit group PawsItForward.
This year we were able to provide their pups in care with over $1400 in raw dog food!! 🎉🤯
This is amazing and far surpasses previous years’ donations. We are so very grateful we could make even a small difference for them and we hope next year is just as successful 🐾🦴🥩

We were thrilled to have chosen as the products provided for these donations as they are our favourite supplier!!!

Have you ever considered feeding your pet fur !?

Majority of people who feed commercially prepared raw food don’t consider adding fur to their pet’s diet. Now I won’t judge if the thought of tossing a whole rabbit, whole quail, whole mouse .. fur and all out for dinner gets you a little squirmy. So an easy compromise is to add the fur in via a treat!!

As the temperatures start to rise I start to get pickier about the time product sits out before getting into a freezer.

I always try to coordinate delivery times for when you are home but sometimes there is a window between when I drop an order off and when you may get home. So a cooler or an insulated freezer bag are super helpful!!!
