Erin Ivans has taken a lifelong love and connection with animals and an almost equal number of years of training her own dogs and horses for shows to create a career she is passionate about. After moving to Kelowna from Vancouver Island in 2006, Erin followed her passion for showjumping, while continuing her thirteen year career as a Dental Hygienist. In 2007, Erin completed her training in Equine
Sports Therapy, which allowed her to follow her dream of helping animals to recover from muscle injuries and to maintain soundness through maintenance and massage therapy. In 2012, she began training her two Boston Terriers, Jaxxin and Kruze (K9 Kruzer's namesake) and soon realized her natural talent for working with canines of all breeds and dispositions. Erin then graduated from an accredited professional dog training program in Victoria and now owns and operates her own dog adventure and training company, K9 Kruzers Adventure Academy. Erin's medical and dental background also compliments her canine training program in that many behavioral problems originate from joint and muscle injuries as well as dental disease. Erin strongly advises veterinary examinations to rule out pain first when it comes to behavior assessment and modification. In addition, Erin works as a Laser Technician for Dr. Gail Jewell of Heartland Veterinary Services. The Class 4 (Companion) laser can assist in treating a variety of muscular issues by reducing pain and inflammation and increasing the speed of healing. See the link on the K9 Kruzers home page for more information on Laser Therapy. Erin can be called directly to book appointments for laser therapy for your dogs, cats or horses. Erin's calm, balanced demeanor and warm and caring approach make her an asset to the dog community and a natural with both clients and dogs alike. Clients will appreciate her skill and professionalism blended with her naturally easy going nature and encouraging approach.
