Dogs are always full of surprises no matter how much time you spend with them or how many! There is always something that makes you shake your head, chuckle, and wonder why they would think to do the things they do!
This is Lucy, she is a schnauzer mix, who is almost 15-YEARS old! She has a nice fluffy blanket to curl up on with her packmate, but she decided to find her own cozy spot... on a wire shelf with clipper blades, blow driers, and other grooming supplies! We found her here not once but twice! 😊

This is what a “Pack Walk WITH Dogs” SHOULD look like! We are walking in a pack, with the pack!
Dogs who are off away from the pack do not want or feel part of the pack. This is usually because the human is not a confident, calm, in control pack leader.
And they know who the pack leader is, because that’s Grant behind us taking the pictures and he’s all by himself! 😉

Our NEW Weight Pull Shed!
The 36 foot rail system is almost ready for weight pull training to begin!
We just need to attach the plywood, cover it with carpet and add the weight!
Be sure to check our website as we will be posting information about this sport and upcoming training dates.
Check out the video below showing our set up and Loxley pulling in Virginia this past summer.
As you can see it is a great workout for our dog’s hind limbs, helping to prevent the injuries and joint disease many of our dogs suffer from.

Ever wonder why your dog sometimes quickly whips around to lick themselves? Or why when your dog interacts with other dogs they cannot stop smelling and/or licking your dog to the point your dog is overwhelmed by all this unwanted attention? Well there may be a simple answer to this issue.
We all know about the a**l gland secretions that are dogs should naturally secrete when having a bowel movement. The really stinky stuff! 🤢 This a**l gland secretions can be pretty thick and sticky, causing some residual secretions to remain on your dog.
Loxley is a healthy Japanese Mastiff who has normal bowel movements with a**l gland secretions. But almost every second day, I take a damp throw away rag or wipe and clean him up. I think I missed a day this week, so this is after 3-days.
I had shared this with a client who was explaining how terrible the other dogs go after her dog at the dog park. She thought may as well give it a try. She could not believe that by doing this she was able to resolved all that unwanted sniffing and licking of her dog.
Taking care of your dog's overall health, including good nutrition, grooming, and hygiene, promotes good health, behaviour, and Happy Dogs!

Let's talk NAILS!

Our Basic Pedicure service is offered for dog's who allow their owners to trim their nails but because we trim nails on a daily basis, their owners feel more comfortable having us trim their nails.
Even if the owner needs to muzzle their dog to trim their nails, that's okay, we don't mind muzzling them for their Basic Pedicure.

If your dog does NOT allow you to trim their nails, and you have not introduced them to being muzzled for nail trims, then we will NOT be able to offer the Basic Pedicure service. Your dog's safety and our safety is always our first priority.

Keeping your dog's nails trimmed is very important for your dog's overall health.
