This is Sergant Gander.
His Dickin Medal citation reads:

“For saving the lives of Canadian infantrymen during the Battle of Lye Mun on Hong Kong Island in December 1941… Twice Gander’s attacks halted the enemy’s advance and protected groups of wounded soldiers. In a final act of bravery, the war dog was killed in action gathering a gr***de. Without Gander’s intervention, many more lives would have been lost in the assault.”

Lest we forget the men, women, and animals that lost their lives in the pursuit of keeping our freedom, and opposing those that threaten to take it from us and our allies. 🇨🇦

First Come, First Serve!

It is with heavy heart that we've had to say goodbye to our Wellington aka Welly this evening. With health issues worsening with each few days, the quality of life was no longer there. Some of you may remember this little wolf climbing into your cars looking for Tim Hortons bags to destroy or just to say 'Hi' and leave his dirty paw prints on your clean seats. He loved his romps through the woods with the likes of his besties Spencer, Ruby and Sterling, Bosco, Mandie and others. He loved to lead and manage the pack always. At 17, Welly lived his best life here in the country where he was free to be himself. We're going to miss his presence, how ever small.
R.I.P. We love you Welly! We will see you on the other side of the 🌈bridge. 😪
