Not only will you be with your equine partner in a clinic setting for approximately 6 hours per day, you will have access to incredible trails to enjoy at your leisure.

Want to bring the family?! Make this a vacation to remember as Green Lake is right next door! Boating, hiking, fishing and even ATV trails all within minutes of the facility.

The price of this clinic includes the following:

✅️ Stabling (You will water, feed, muck and care for your horse daily).

** Internship Position Available **

You guessed it... working with fluffy Gypsies!! 😍

This is a riding position (I know, I know it's going to be amazing!!), so someone with riding experience, particularly with young horses, is a must.

Here's where we need help:

- Grooming.
- Washing.
- Saddling.
- Warming Up / Cooling down.
- Trail Riding.
- Barn chores (mucking, feeding, waters).
- Assisting farrier and vet as needed.

Here's what what we need from you:

- Positive attitude.
- Reliability.
- Desire to learn.
- Riding experience.
- C**t starting an asset.
- 20 to 25 hours per week in exchange for on-site shared housing. (This will allow you to have another part-time job to supplement your income).
- Late February thru October 2025 commitment.

Long-term (year round) available for the right fit. Includes a paddock for 1 horse. No other pets, sorry!

Who we are:

At Morning Star Ranch we raise and train Gypsy horses while operating a boarding facility for private owners. We strive to provide quality care and a welcome environment.
Horsemanship is our number one priority! We feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with these wonderful animals and never take it for granted.

Sabrina Fedorak has been riding for over 25 years, currently competing in Reining with her Quarterhorses. She adores the Gypsy breed and has a small herd of 9 she is currently raising and training. In 2025 Sabrina has set out to open a small Equine Therapy Program for children and adults with disabilities. She is an avid back country rider and instructs Mountain Trail Clinics.

Darren Fedorak loves Sabrina and built the facility with his bare hands, literally. He helps Sabrina care for the horses and does all facility maintenance.

As fall rolls in and the leaves start to fall I'm reminded that every season has a purpose, whether I like that season or not 🍂

We have 2 choices really... be disappointed the season is upon us, or embrace it knowing we are blessed with another season of life that so many others may not be as fortunate to experience.

This is the season I really start to work with my youngsters, and I love it!! Watching these beautiful gypsies learn, grow, be curious and actually enjoy spending time with me is such an incredible blessing I will not take for granted.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada! 🇨🇦

Give them time...

We expect a lot out of our horses, often immediate perfection. Honestly, that's just not fair.

We strip them from their homes, their buddies, their food, their water and their comfort - throw them on a trailer, sometimes for days at a time, often taking them to a new climate and expect them to walk off the trailer the same horse that stepped on.

Even the best horses get worried, I can see it on their face. The look of fear and concern in their dark eyes, often with a wrinkled brow. We expect them to settle immediately, eat what's in front of them and drink strange tasting water. Their stomachs often churning from the environmental changes and acid building up, many of them developing stress ulcers that can easily be managed with a couple days of Gastroguard. Yet very few owners provide it.

And then there's the horses that "act out" and we often label as misrepresented by the seller or disrespectful. But did we give them time? Did we allow them to settle into their new environment peacefully, with zero expectations... or did we push them too quickly, asking for more than they could mentally or physically give us in that moment.

I once read that it takes a horse a couple of weeks to get familiar with their surroundings, a couple of months to feel settled into a new routine and often up to a year to really feel like home.

Don't be in a rush to work your new horse. Instead, be in a rush to build trust and relationship with them. Help them see their new environment is safe, manners are still required no matter where they are, and they can trust you to help them navigate through their journey.

I often hear people say "that horse was never spooky here", and that may be true. But with new ownership and new environment comes the need for strong leadership. Horses desire leaders. And believe me, they will test you every day to see if you are worthy to lead them.

Be patient. Be kind. Be empathetic. Be a good leader.

And most importantly, give them time...

Prep for Success Program

Introducing the ultimate Pre-Riding Program for your unstarted or green horse!

In this program your horse will stay at Morning Star Ranch in Keremeos, BC (South Okanagan) for 8 weeks where they will go through our full pre-ride program.

This program ensures a confident, willing, well-mannered partner who is ready to start their riding career with success.

Suitable for owners who want to put the first rides on their horse but need a solid foundation, colts heading to a training program, green horses or restarts.

Your horse will learn the following:

- 35 Groundwork Exercises.
- Roundpenning.
- Desensitization Training (flags, bags, tarps, balls, etc.).
- Trailer Loading.
- Tying.
- Bathing.
- Sidepass to/stand at mounting block.
- Saddling.
- Ground driving.
- Bridling.
- Obstacles (Tires, Bridges, Planks, Water Box).

Limited availability ensures your horse is worked with a minimum of 5 days a week.

This is an all-inclusive program that includes:

- Program.
- Board.
- Feed.
- Farrier.
- Grain.

* Vet care not included.

Prerequisites:

- Domesticated horses only, no wildies.
- Horses must be halter broke.
- No aggressive horses.

Spa day with baby Toby!!

He is going to be spectacular when he's older 😍 Phenomenal breeding shines in this one, both in temperament and conformation. Just look at that true double mane!!

Right now he is doing age appropriate training like learning how to tie, lead, backup, move his hip, groom and of course play!

This fall Toby will get to start exploring the indoor arena and playing with balls, tarps and toys 🧸
