Thankful Tuesday 🐾❤

We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our wonderful visitors and supporters during this holiday season.

First, we'd like to give a huge shoutout to Chloe and Alex, our animal lover rockstars! Chloe went above and beyond by donating large bags of toys and gifts for our animals in need. Alex, your creativity and compassion are unmatched! The festive stockings you made, filled with toys and goodies for each dog and cat, were absolutely beautiful. Not to mention the treat and toy packages for each cat.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all our friends who generously donated gifts through Amazon. Every gift makes a significant difference in the lives of the animals here, helping to make their stay with us more comfortable and joyous as they wait for their forever homes.

To everyone who has supported us, visited, or spread the word about our shelter, we are incredibly grateful. Your kindness and generosity make the holiday season brighter for our furry loved ones.

Every day, more and more animals find themselves without a home, left to fend for themselves on the streets. 😢🐾

We've noticed a troubling rise in the number of animals being abandoned. Many owners, facing hardships, have resorted to leaving their pets behind or claiming them as strays. Last week, with the support of Animal Services, we took in 28 cats found abandoned in dire conditions within our jurisdictions.

We understand that life can present unexpected challenges, and sometimes caring for a pet may become difficult. However, we kindly urge anyone facing such hardships to seek assistance or find a suitable placement for their beloved animals rather than resorting to abandonment.

In addition to the cats, we also welcomed a new puppy into our care, suffering from a broken knee. Sadly, the owners were unable to afford the necessary veterinary treatment. This is a stark reminder of the vital role donations play in supporting our animals' needs while they are in our care.

With the increasing number of animals, both strays and those hoping to be reunited with their families, we face significant demands on our resources. If you would like to help, please consider donating through our website at (https://anc.ca.apm.activecommunities.com/georgina/donation/detail/4?onlineSiteId=0&recurring=false) or dropping off supplies at the shelter.

For any questions/inquiries, please contact us at (905)476-3457 ext 3701 or email us at [email protected]. Learn more about the Georgina Animal Shelter at georgina.ca/animalservices

Hi, my name is Marble,

Female - pending spay
Domestic Short Hair
Approx. 7 years old

I'm a proper feline lady ready for my forever home, where I can truly shine as a charming companion. I'm a relaxed, easy-going cat, enjoying the simple pleasures in life, like a cozy nap spot or a sunny windowsill. I may be shy in a new environment and take time to acclimate while observing my surroundings before fully engaging. Patience is key with me!
