Homestead German Shepherds We are a small kennel producing 1-3 litters a year of healthy, well balanced, DDR and Czech German S Our puppies begin their lives as house dogs.

They are born and raised in the nursery off of our kitchen. From day one they are liberally handled. My team of “puppy handlers” take their jobs very seriously and by the time your puppy is ready to leave, they have been very well socialized. When age permits they are given lots of opportunity for outdoor play with their mother, the other dogs, the cats, my children and myself. This will make hous

e breaking your puppy a much quicker process, as they have been fully in the routine for several weeks already. Puppies are wormed for the first time at the age of 2 weeks and then every two weeks until 3 months. They are then done monthly until 6 months. After that I do all my dogs every 4 months. Your puppy will receive his/her first vaccination at 6 weeks. He will also be micro chipped, have a full check up with our veterinarian and be registered (as a non-breeding dog) with the Canadian Kennel Club.

We have 9 dogs, 6 are in various stages of blowing their coats at the moment. I’m sure the other three will join the trend shortly. My blower is dead…so I am a brushing fiend 🤣, who is also vacuuming her house every day and sometimes twice. On a positive note: birds are loving all the clumps of hair for their nest building.

We have 5 pups available. I kept back two pups for families who decided to move their deposits to another litter. Pups have received their second booster vaccination and are on a regular deworming schedule.

I would appreciate it, if you all would share this with those you know who make suitable homes for our pups. Homes will have to go through my usual screening process.

Our V Litter pups are 7 weeks old. They have been a super fun crew. They are such a uniform group in size, drive and temperaments. Well, except for MO🤣

Vet checks this week and then they will be able to go off and start their own adventures.

We have 2 males and 2 females available as I write this. I am still deciding which pups are going to which homes. So I cannot say who is actually available. Will update as I go.

The V’s are 4 weeks and eating. We do a heavier breakfast and supper (goat milk, Greek yogurt, egg yolks, pumpkin puree and mushy kibble), but lunch is lighter (goat milk, probiotics, Greek yogurt and eggs yolks) and of course still having some Oogie snacks❤️

We have a surprise….meet our V Litter. Out of (Oogie) Homestead O’Canada and from Yukon vom haus Iris. 9 pups in total. 5 female and 4 males. All dark sables. They are 3 weeks old. Very vigorous group with big heads and stout bodies. Going to be ready to head out to their homes weekend of July 15.

I have four pups available from my U litter. Two by my choice and two families need to postpone bringing a puppy home at this time.

I just want to say, I am ALWAYS supportive of families who make this choice. Life happens, and never when we schedule it. I want my pups going into an environment that is not just physically ready for a pup, but one that has people who are not overwhelmed by family or work circumstances. Makes for a better ‘happily ever after’ for all involved.

All four pups are sound physically. Great with sounds(storms/gunshots/vacuums) various surfaces, large dogs and people. They have started crate training/house breaking.

The x-ray on the left is of a foxtail tract that was injected with contrast medium to show just how far a foxtail can travel. The lesion between the toes of the foot on the bottom right is how these tracts will look to the naked eye. This is a great example of just how far foxtails can migrate in tissues. Thank you to Dr. Andrew Grange from Veterinary Surgical Centers in Berkeley for this amazing x-ray.

We would like to apologize for our terrible reply times for emails and phone calls. Our house has been on the busy side the last few months. First the holiday hustle and bustle and Covid made its rounds. I was fortunate never contracted the virus (yay to being the disinfectant queen). All are healthy and well now.
Kataura thought having her pups early would be a wonderful surprise. Mom did stellar and by day two was acting and looking great. All of the are doing super, and are a vigorous and a healthy litter.

We would like to introduce our S litter. 3 sable females. 7 males (4 sables & 3 blacks). Due to the size of her litter, we do have a 2 males available. If interested in being considered, email me at [email protected]
