We are a small, owner operated pet retail & supply store located in beautiful Kimberley, B.C. Im Erin! I started Kimberley Kritters Pet Boutique in 2017 with my husband Brian. We are locals with a love for animals! While Brian has moved into an exciting new career as a Home Energy Advisor, I have grown the business to include an incredible team of ladies�
A little about me... I worked in the vete

rinary industry for over 15 years and also owned and operated a petsitting business for 10 years. I've fostered many pets through several animal foundations and have a love for nutrition! Brian and I have a sweet little senior dog, Mr. Wilson, who is almost 17! While in the shop, you will also be greeted by the smiling faces of the rest of our team, Bailey, Kristen, Anne, Sam & Katie! Bailey is the store manager and always super helpful! Shes our inventory guru! Whatever you need, she can probably find it ;) Any of these fantastic ladies are there to help, as they are all very knowledgeable on pet nutrition and wellness! The growth and success of our shop would not be possible without this wonderful team of women �

We are so very excited to offer a unique, personal service for you and your pets! We pride ourselves in carrying healthy, fresh, high quality, Canadian made food as well as treats, toys and supplies that suit all kritters, big and small! We also have a tag engraving machine, so you can ensure your pet has their ID on at all times! We have a great selection of unique tags! All pets are welcome at Kimberley Kritters! Bring them along to do your shopping and enjoy some treats and snuggles! We believe in a strong sense of community that includes everyone, on 2 legs or 4! To help support our community, we give back as much as we can! Every month, Kimberley Kritters donates a percentage of their sales on certain items, to a local charity or cause in need of support! We are so lucky to be part of such a great community of people, and want to continue to support the great big family that is Kimberley! We hope to see you soon! Erin

🌭 Hot dogs ain't cool 🌭
Our Kootenay doggies live a pretty 'chill' life, they're only exposed to this extreme heat for a few weeks out of the year, but they are a brutal couple of weeks!

Heat and doggies don't mix well, so here's some tips to keep your pupper cool and safe:

☀️ Avoid outdoor midday activities, instead choose morning and evening jaunts, find shady areas and try to choose the forest over sidewalks
💦 Increase the moisture in their diets by adding broth, water, kefir to their meals. You can even freeze their meals on lick mats
🏖️ Use cooling mats, bandannas and jackets if you're hanging outdoors
😎 If your pup enjoys water, spend time in the creeks and lakes we're surrounded by, but be mindful of the walks to and from and choose safe routes to avoid hot pavement and beaches
🔥 Extra hot days are great for indoor play, training and enrichment puzzle games - we have LOTS of ideas for you!
☀️ Regular summer grooming and MAYBE a summertime haircut (refer to your groomer's advice on this)
🔥🔥🔥 NEVER leave your pet in a parked car for any amount of time 🔥🔥🔥

And finally, know the symptoms of heat stroke so you can seek medical attention if needed:
🌭 Excess panting/drooling, vomiting/diarrhea, glassy eyes, restlessness, high heart rate are some of the basic signs

If you find that your dog inhales their raw food, try a lick mat instead! The options are endless but here are a few of our favourites: Peanut butter Raw food Plain Greek yogurt or kefir (yogurt in moderation) Mashed banana Fresh veggies like carrots, broccoli, or whatever your dog enjoys Fresh fruits Cheese Consider this your warning that this will be the grossest sound you'll hear all day 🤣🤢 So prepare yourself accordingly!
