π Repurposing a Pile of Pumpkins! π
This Halloween, please donβt toss your pumpkins in the trash β repurpose them into nutritious and entertaining treats for the animals at the Bervie Zoological Park!
Pumpkins are a nutritious seasonal treat and are well-loved by a variety of animals, and are a novel way to provide enrichment. It promotes natural animal behaviours (such as foraging or stalking) and keeps animals mentally stimulated. Not only does it provide entertainment, but they are full of fiber and beneficial minerals, vitamins and nutrients. Pumpkin seeds contain a natural dewormer.
PUMPKINS: Carved/Uncarved
UNCARVED pumpkins are preferred as they provide greater nutritional value. Animals will eat and play with a carved pumpkin, but they get most of their nutritional value from the inside of the pumpkin.
Please:
π« NO paint or sprays
