Hello everyone, I have a very special ask!!

Our dear friend Mary has let us know that Dismis has been diagnosed with a liver tumor and needs pretty extensive diagnostics and care.
Dismis is a puppy in one of if very first litters in Tennessee and I know what he means to Mary. He is her absolute heart and best friend.

I am hoping that our vast Samoyed “family” network can come together and show or love,support and prayers for Mary and Dismis and if within your ability, donate to helping get Dismis the extra diagnostic and treatment he needs. The bills are rolling in by the hour it seems and while she has been tackling them this far they oncologist has recommended a CT scan with rapid response surgery if he is a candidate.

I am communicating with Mary throughout the day. I have direct donation information I can pass along privately until I hear if she wants me to post that info publicly- a gofundme is being considered but fees they charge could be better used for treatment and diagnostics.

In Tennessee our dogs were always!!! (Couple times a year at least) encountering skunks.

Apparently here it’s porcupine!!
3 dogs, 45 quills or so - they got off lucky with only a few quills that took some extra pulling.

I highly doubt they learned their lesson. We will curtail evening field walks for now.

This is the first one we’ve seen. None at all last year.

I generally keep my posts strictly related to our Samoyed adventures, puppies etc.

Today is a harder post.

As most, if not all of you know, Umberto was imported from the Ukraine. His breeders are tremendous people. I learned last year that they moved from their previous location in to
Kyiv.
I am in communication with Lydmila as often as I can. I am heartsick and scared for her, the family and the dogs who are all together. They stay in the basement and don’t venture out. Her messages are so raw. Some I can share, others are more personal.

“We have no time to wait sanctions - we need real help”

“We have a real war. Russian army kills our people and destroy our cities. Died many children, people and pets.”

So I ask you to keep them in your thoughts. Prayers if that is your belief.
Donate to reputable causes that will get them aid.

If you believe the world should be more involved, write to politicians, take a stand, what ever we can do as individuals we need to do it.

I’ve never been to the Ukraine, although much of my family is Ukrainian.

Saskatchewan has a large Ukrainian population, young men are returning to the Ukraine from here to fight for their homeland.

So please, today take a few moments and do what you can do to support Ukraine
