TWO YEARS - that's how long Bella has been waiting for her forever home. When Bella arrived at Paws Above Rescue on February 14, 2023, we never imagined that two years later she would still be in foster care.

Bella is a seven-year-old , 30 lb tripod who enjoys cuddles and hanging out with her person. She's happy to chill on the couch but also enjoys her neighbourhood walks. As a tripod, she needs daily, moderate exercise to help keep her hind leg strengthened.

Bella would love a quiet home with few stairs. She loves having company during the day but can be left for periods on her own.

Paws Above Rescue is looking for fosters to care for dogs and cats while they wait for their forever homes. We are receiving numerous requests to take in animals from young to old. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can save.

What exactly does fostering mean? It means bringing a homeless animal into your home, caring for them, and providing them with affection and socialization until a permanent family is found. In turn, Paws Above Rescue supplies food, covers medical costs (if any), and provides any other needed supplies.

We have an immediate need for a foster for Boon, an 8-year-old mix who is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. You can find out more about him at https://pawsaboverescue.ca/dog/boon/

The pack that dresses together... demands extra treats for their cooperation!

Two Paws Above Rescue alums recently met up for a family gathering. One family member adopted Messi (on the left) in September 2024, and another adopted Honey (on the right) in December 2024. Along with their fur siblings, the dogs dressed in style for a fashionable family photo.

Paws Above Rescue is so happy that Papito's pawrents shared a first anniversary update with us.

Papito came to our rescue early last year when he was surrendered to one of Mexican partners after his owner was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Now Papito is living his best life travelling and exploring with his loving family. And fashionably dressed!

Brie is a sweet and affectionate one-year-old. She likes being around people and is curious and cautiously playful.

Brie would make a great addition to a family as either a solo pet enjoying all the love and attention she could get or as part of a family with other pets, dogs, or cats.
