October is Veterinary Technician appreciation month so we would like to give some recognition and thanks to our awesome technicians at St. Lawrence. Jodi and Roxanne have both been longstanding and dedicated members of our team, and our hospital could not function without them!

They perform numerous skilled tasks that include everything from administering and monitoring anesthesia, running laboratory tests, taking radiographs, and looking after our patients each and every day.

Thank you Jodi and Roxanne for all that you do!

This past weekend was the Kingston Fall Fair. A part of the Fair was the achievement day for the Frontenac 4H Beef Club. St Lawrence Veterinary Services was proud to sponsor the banner for the Grand Champion Steer from the Beef show. The steers were auctioned off on Saturday night with the money going back to the 4H member.

As promised, we would like to introduce you to one of our new small animal veterinarians, Dr. Daina Rumble!

Daina grew up in Aurora, Ontario and has had a love for animals from a young age. She attended the university of Guelph and obtained a degree in biomedical sciences before completing her doctorate of veterinary medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College from 2020-2024.

Daina is one of the newest additions to the St. Lawrence team. After completing her externship placement here in summer 2023, she took on a small animal general practitioner position starting July 2024. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery and preventative medicine. Daina loves spending her spare time outdoors, with friends and family or snuggled up with her 2 rescue cats Franklin and Bug.
