💦🔥☀️Attention pet owners! As temperatures continue to rise throughout the summer, it's so important to keep our furry friends safe from the scorching heat. ☀️🔥💦

Here are a few tips to ensure your pets stay cool and comfortable as our temperatures rise.

1. Keep them hydrated: Just like us, pets need plenty of water to stay hydrated. Make sure to always have a bowl of fresh water available for them to drink from.

2. Limit outdoor activities: Try to avoid taking your pet out during the hottest hours of the day. If you do, make sure to take frequent breaks in shaded areas.

3. Protect their paws: The pavement can get extremely hot, causing burns and discomfort for your pets. Consider using booties or walking on grassy areas instead.
If you cannot hold the back of your bare hand against the pavement/sidewalk for more than 4 seconds without it burning, it's too hot.
Just imagine how your pets paw pads feel.

4. Never leave them in a parked car: This is a no-brainer, but it's worth emphasizing. Temperatures inside a parked car can reach deadly levels in a matter of minuets.

Our pets rely on us, so it is our duty to be responsible pets owners!

We had a kitty come in for a visit the other week that presented with some urinary issues. After examination we found he was blocked and had an excessive amount of urinary crystals. This is a look at the urinary crystals under ultra sound as the doctor was flushing the bladder. You can see all the crystals and sludge floating around in the bladder. Can you say ouch!!

This little wiggle worm came in for some vaccine boosters today. Couldn't hold still for a picture so we had to take a video of his cuteness and of corse he got to have a few yummy treats! Way to go LunchBox!

A dental cleaning can be a daunting task for everyone involved - patients, pet owners, and the vet clinic team. It takes a village to do the best job and keep everyone safe so this is a short video of what happens in the course of a day in a dental patient. Thank you to Buttons and his family for allowing us to share his visit.

Ear mites are a common finding we see in kittens, they can cause irritation (scratching,bleeding and dark brown discharge) and I cant imagine they would sound very nice to the carrier.

Believe it or not, we have not one but 2 heartworm positive cases currently under treatment! Yes, heartworms do live up here in Canada though uncommon. Cassie is one of these sweet pups getting treated and has been a real trooper through the whole process so far which can take 9 months! She had her first injection last week and is doing well at home. Here’s a video Cassie getting the first dose of treatment deep in her back muscles.
