I have opened up 3 spots in the Beginner K9 course.

I've never experienced this problem before but unfortunately several people registered and then did not send payment. K9 Playgrrround is a small business and we need to fill a certain number of spaces to pay to rent the hall and for insurance so please don't register and take a spot if you can not attend. Thank you

Beginner K9 class - 6 weeks starting March 24- Leamington

Offering beginners obedience / basic manners class for the family pet.

This class is best for puppies, young dogs, or new family additions without prior training. We will focus on sit, down, stand, place, stay, recall, and walking nicely on a leash.

Fridays 6:15- 7pm @ Leamington United Church gymnasium March 24 - May 5 (no class April 28). $175

2nd ever "Paws and Claws" event
On Tuesday, December 6th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lakeside Pavilion, Kingsville Fantasy of Lights will have Santa Claus available for pictures with the furry family member. Everyone can bring their pets to Lakeside Park for photo's with "Santa Paws," tour the pet-friendly vendors and enjoy a stroll through the Fantasy of Lights display.

To all my fellow , owners trainers and behaviourists. I see you.

I love being a I'm saying that it's literally the tip of the iceberg! I know what's going on underneath the water, I know what's going on in the background.

We do so much more than just toss food.

You are doing a great job keep it up.

People can and will say mean things. It can be demoralising and hard.
But don't let anyone else tell you other methods are better. This works. Science is on our side. We got you.

These quirky renditions of your pet are made of felt and scented (can do unscented) for your car, office, or wherever you choose.

To order please PM me. I will need a photo of your pet either profile or straight on. Or choose the "surprise me" option and I'll Facebook stalk you for an inspiration photo I think would be cute. You choose their accessory (bite bag, bumper, wubba, ribbon, flower crown, etc).

I can also do other animals, or a general breed that isn't a specific pet.

$20 plus shipping.

Please note these are perfectly imperfect. My lack of actual crafting talent is what gives these quirky creatures their appeal!!!

Great advice in the caption

Who knows if this is a true story but it's a point well made.

"I want my dog to stop pulling in the lead"
"My dog needs to stop barking at everything"
"My dog barks all the time"
"I want my dog to stop jumping up"

Very often we concentrate on what our dogs are doing wrong. We see all the things we don't like. I once made a phone call to a potential client and they told me the dog barked "24/7". I asked if the dog was in the room with him now and he said yes. I pointed out that his dog wasn't barking. I know it may feel like our dogs are doing these behaviours all the time but they're not. And this gives us an opportunity to intervene and reinforce alternative behaviours.

Pulling on the lead - concentrate on reinforcing walking on a loose lead

Barking - notice when your dog is quiet and start reinforcing quiet, settled behaviours

Jumping up - reinforce four in the floor behaviours (standing not sitting, it's easier for the dog) a lot. Under different conditions.

Position reinforcement based trainers deal with problems from a number of different directions with one of them concentrating on building behaviours which the dog can do which removes the problem behaviour. A constructional approach to training and learning is kinder on the dog.

It doesn't look like the snow plans to stop anytime soon. For everyone's safety we are going to cancel tonight.
We are going to start Feb 10 @ 6:30 and do week 1 and week 2 content that evening. The first week is mostly talking about the theory so this should work out well and not be too much for the pup's brains!!

❄️ Good morning ❄️ Beginner K9 is set to start Thursday. We are in a wait and see mode at the moment with regards to the weather forecast. We can postpone for one more week if necessary however that would take our final class into the kids' March break. Keep watch here, we will find a way!
