It’s that time of year again. Flea and tick season is upon us. As we head into warmer weather it is important to remember that ticks are active at temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius.

If you haven’t started your dog on tick prevention already, now is the time to start. We recommend using Credelio once a month until June 1st to prevent fleas and ticks infestations.

We will be starting 4Dx testing on May 1st. This is a simple screening test involving us taking a small blood sample from your dog. This test screens for heartworm disease and three tick borne bacteria. Due to our mild winters, we recommend testing each year. This year we are using a new three in one product called Credelio Plus for heartworm, flea and tick prevention, as well as providing intestinal parasite treatment.

Christmas is almost here 🎄🎄🎄 The clinic will be closed Dec. 24th, Dec. 25th and Dec. 26th. We will be back in Tuesday, Dec. 27th to care for our furry friends. If you have an emergency while we are away you can contact The Emergency Clinic of Kitchener- Waterloo for help.

We have kittens ready for adoption 😺😻
One male and 5 females available, 7-8 months old, raised with other cats and small dogs. Very well socialized and come spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated. A small adoption fee will apply. Please call the clinic if you would like more information or to set up a time to meet them.

Vivian came into the clinic today. Dr. Weber gave her a full physical exam and her annual vaccinations. She also had blood drawn for a 4Dx test and Wellness Testing. This will make sure she is free from heartworm disease, tick-borne diseases and check her overall organ function and other health parameters. She was a very brave girl, but is happy to be back home for snuggles in her bed! Oh, and lots of treats! 😉

It's flea and tick time again! We are stocked with Credelio to protect your furry friends. Ticks are active when temperatures are 4C and above. We have already had one client find multiple ticks on their dog so don't delay in starting your preventative medication. We will also be starting 4Dx (heartworm and tick borne disease) blood testing at the end of April
