WD Wagging Tails Rescue

WD Wagging Tails Rescue Fostering and rehoming puppies and dogs who have had a rough start and deserve loving forever homes! Wendy has always had a passion for helping animals.

After volunteering and meeting Kathy and her amazing team, Wendy began working at Gateway Animal Hospital as an Animal Care Assistant. Wendy has adopted several rescue dogs of her own. In early 2023 sadly Wendy said good bye to her last adopted companion. Now, with the help of her husband Dwayne, Wendy has decided to join the world of fostering! They took in their first litter, 5 little poodle pups, in the spring of 2023 and haven't looked back.

ODIN - ADOPTED

My name is Odin. I know this is probably a long shot and my foster momma and I do not have high hopes of me getting a retirement home but she told me to try anyways and see. I am 10-11 years old. I am a Husky and I am one of the sled dogs that the rescue took in a couple months ago. As you can see I am partially blind but that does not stop me from doing all the things I love to do. I love snacks, cuddles and going on walkies. I also like hanging out with you outside and just laying around in the air conditioning. I love going to the groomer and have done very well there.

I am fine with low energy dogs and am currently living with a couple other husky friends. I am more of a companion dog rather than a playmate or anything like that. I have not met any kitties but I did try and be friends with a skunk… that did not go well for me sadly. I would probably be best in a home without kitties BUT it is not off the table if my new family is willing to put some effort into us coexisting. I am fine with kids but being blind in one eye I would prefer older kids who can respect my space and not run up behind me to scare me or anything like that.

I am great in my crate but really do not need one as I usually just lay around waiting for snacks, pets and walkies. I do not play with toys and am not sure if I ever will. I am house trained but may have an accident while getting used to my new routine. I LOVE walks and think they are the best part of the day. I am a bit nervous of getting into the car but have learned that car rides take me to fun places. I will say that I am going to be a bit anxious my first few days in my new home because it is a change and I will need my new family to be patient and supportive.
If you think you can offer me the best forever family ever then please apply for me on this website

Please be sure to read all the details before applying.

An adoption donation applies for me - $250 dollars. I have been neutered, vaccinated with my age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, been given flea/tick/heartworm prevention, heartworm tested and will come with 30 days of free pet insurance as well as my health certificate.

Sweet Sophie is still looking for a family to love, preferably one that has no cats. Located in Calgary, here is a repost of what we have shared about this wonderful girl: please reach out to Janet at [email protected] to learn more!

While the people at ElderDog Calgary, all my fosters and new fur friends have been amazing, it's really time for me to find a home of my own with people of my own that I can share my love with.
What can I tell you about me that you don't already know? First, I've been told my photos don't do me justice! When you meet me, you will just want to pinch me, but I prefer hugs. I am about 9 years old, but don't let my age fool you! I can be active and agile or I can be the best snuggle bug ever! I like to be with my people but I will respect the boundaries you give me. I am very obedient and a quick learner. I am quiet until Amazon stops by or you come home, but then I am quiet again. My bark means business, so a cat-free, detached home may be best for me.
I am not used to being on my own for long periods of time, but I am okay for a while, as long as I have something snuggly and soft to lay on. I eat well and I love celery!
I like my walks, and once I do my business I walk quite well, not too much phases me. I am a sniffer! Oh - and if you are a fair weather walker, that is ok with me. I don't like the cold too much. I have very short hair so my grooming needs are small and I really don't shed. I have the softest belly, so giving me belly rubs will be a pleasant experience for you!! My tail has three speeds - off, high and supercharged. When you talk to me it makes me happy and my tail will show you how much.
My eyes are sad, but my heart is full!! My goal in life will be to make you proud of me and shower you with love and kisses. There is so much to learn about me, so email Janet at [email protected] and see if we might be that perfect fit.

This poor skunk fellow had a jar stuck on his head. The kind folks at Oakville & Milton Humane Society removed the jar, but there the swelling and injuries means he requires some extra care. He also is very dehydrated as a result of not being able to drink (or eat) with a jar on his head.

We are hopeful he’ll make a full recovery (in the mean time forgive my smell). He is currently sleeping off the happy meds and he has been given fluids.
