There are many reasons why a cat's nails can split or break. If a nail has split or is broken, we are here to help. Bring your kitty in before the issue becomes a bigger issue. Check your kitty's nails regularly to make sure they are healthy and there are no splits or breaks.🐱

Many of us may supplement with Vitamin D during the less sunny winter months, but be sure to keep it out of reach of your dog. Excess amounts of Vitamin D create a life-threatening amount of calcium and phosphorous that can harden in the kidneys, intestinal tract and heart and can be life-threatening. Keep it in a safe place.

If you think your dog has ingested a supplement containing Vitamin D, call us right away!!

Miss Mabel is a fabulous Tortoiseshell kitten who is obviously loving her snuggles from Dr. Sara! Tortoiseshell cats have a coat that is a mixture of patches of red, grey, and black (and sometimes a splash of white!). She is absolutely gorgeous and unique! Congratulations on your new family! 🐱💕

Cats are masters at hiding any discomfort or ailments, it is a survival instinct that is ingrained in them. However, that doesn't mean when they don't jump up or down as much as they used to, or they are struggling to get into and out of a high edged litter box, that they don't feel uncomfortable. Those signs tell you that your cat is feeling pain.

You can do the same things at home for a senior cat as a senior dog, help them feel more comfortable in their old age.

Posh's owners decided to have her spayed using the laparoscopic spay technique vs the traditional spay surgery. This technique is much easier on the patient, and recovery is much faster. Our surgeon, Dr. Marco, is one of the few veterinarians in the area offering this specialty surgery. Our patients don't understand what we are doing when we need to do a medical procedure or treatment on them. We often obtain blood samples from their jugular vein (in their neck) because it take the least time for our patients to have to be still.
We combine what we have to do with lots of snuggles, treats and love. We want our patients to know they can trust us and Posh, this 16 month old Golden Retriever was a rockstar! She was brave and stayed calm for her blood sample collection and afterward, she was all wagging tail and loving her snuggles. She charmed the whole clinic! 🐾💕

Dogs in their senior years can be arthritic, have difficulty with mobility and many other ailments that go with old age. You can do alot at home to make your dog live a more comfortable life. If you aren't sure if their weight is healthy, give us a call and bring them in, we can help you determine a healthy weight.

Some dogs snore just like humans do. A few breeds are predisposed to it, while others might snore when they sleep on their back or when they experience allergies. It is a generally normal behavior, unless there is a sudden onset of snoring in your dog, that could be cause to call the clinic.

Congratulations to Penny!!!! Penny has been receiving chemotherapy for gastrointestinal lymphoma since March 2024 and her mom and dad were able to "ring the bell" on her last treatment this month! After an ultrasound and bloodwork to check her current status, she was given the "ALL CLEAR" and is in remission!! She is full of energy, playing and gaining weight!
