A Lyme positive test result. Not something anyone wants to see but important knowledge to have for fast and effective treatment options. Regularly testing for heart worm as well as tick borne diseases provides essential information to your pet’s health and wellbeing.

Warmer weather means warmer temperatures in vehicles. Never leave your pet unattended in a vehicle. Temperatures soar faster than we think and pets start to suffer quickly in hot cars. Even if you intend to run into a building for a short errand, an accident or event that causes delay inside could have devastating consequences for your pet if no one knows they are in the the car alone.

Jinny was very brave for her 4Dx parasite bloodwork. Since we were taking the sample, Jinny’s mom decided to take advantage of our spring special and get a full panel of bloodwork at a discounted price. Regular bloodwork is a great way to keep an eye on potential changes in health we are not able to visually see. Early detection of issues is always a benefit.

As pools are opening up and families are visiting the beach/lake, keep in mind that not all pets are natural or strong swimmers. They should be monitored around water just like human children.

Misha is just so happy that she wags her tail with great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, this has led to a wound on her tail, resulting in her having to have it wrapped up while it heals. She is still a very happy girl❤️🐾

Ever wondered what your pet’s parasite blood screening test looks like? These are two tests from two different pets. The test on the left shows a negative result and the test on the right reflects two tick borne diseases that were detected in the bloodwork. Early detection is key in the most successful treatment plan. If your pet is bitten by a tick and not on prevention medication, a test is recommended 4-6 weeks later. Biennial heartworm testing ensures that the prevention medication is safe to administer.

A round worm found in a poorly feeling patient today. There are all kinds of things to find and eat in the spring and summer months; some of which contain worms! 🪱 Thankfully, your summer heartworm medication is also a great general dewormer. Another good reason to put your pet on a monthly heartworm prevention medication this year. It is recommended to start this medication June 1st and give it monthly until November 1st. Just under a month to pickup your deworming medication to start on time! 👌
