This year, we want to celebrate Spay and Neuter Awareness Month - which also happens to be February - and take you behind the scenes of a neuter surgery here at WVH. A special thanks to Weston, who was a perfect model patient, and his owners for allowing us to share him with the world! Just like our dental video, we hope this video can provide some comfort and insight to anyone considering spaying or neutering their furry friend. There are many medical, behavioural, and ethical reasons we highly recommend spaying and neutering your pets. For International Day of Veterinary Medicine, our RVTs and doctors talked about some of the hardest parts of their schooling. Regardless of how hard veterinary medicine can be sometimes, none of us would have changed our path. We all love what we do and are so grateful we get to help pets and their owners every day! 🐱🐶🩺❤️ We missed some staff members in person… so read down below to see what they thought was difficult! ⬇️ Dr. Anne: The sheer volume of information was a huge challenge, especially learning the differences between species. Cats are NOT just small dogs! Dr. Angela: Learning about all the species I knew I would never work with… and taking blood from a bird’s wing. As a part of RVT month in October, we wanted to film a “Day in the Life” as one of our RVTs.
