Who remembers Todd with the floppy ear from last year? 🙋‍♀️ Well, he’s here to tell us he thinks he fixed it! He’s supposed to have TWO floppy ears right? 🐶

Todd came to visit us for his annual examination with a doctor. Annual examinations are necessary for every pet to ensure they are happy and healthy, stay up to date on legally required and recommended vaccinations, and receive parasite prevention to protect them from disease-carrying parasites.
We also love the opportunity to give your pet love and treats. Because of this, it can be a fun experience for your pet too!

Meet Sage! He’s an adorable Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) puppy who was so brave for his first appointment!

💙 Sage is 11 weeks old, he weighs 4.5kg, his vet was Dr. Jaclyn, and he loves his sister Sable (another sheltie!). 💙

Riley stopped by for a puppy visit with Dr. Steph to get his vaccines boosted and he was an absolute delight!

💙 Riley is 17 weeks old, a Cava-poo, 4.6kg, his favourite treat is peanut butter, and he LOVES his goat toy. 💙

An initial puppy examination doesn’t mean you’re done until next year! Our little guys need their vaccines boosted appropriately to make sure they are adequately protected. There’s also a lot of change and development in a puppy’s first year of life, so these regular visits are essential to ensure they are happy and healthy, and to receive parasite prevention to protect them from disease-carrying parasites. It’s also the perfect opportunity to continue socialization and conditioning vet appointments to be fun and less scary!

A lot of you have probably noticed a (not so) new face in the hospital! We are so happy to introduce our newest veterinarian to join our team…
Dr. Jaclyn Tomlin! 🩺💙

Dr. Jaclyn has been with us since the fall of 2024 (sorry for the delayed official introduction!) and it’s been a pleasure having her on the team.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo, she graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020, spending her clinical year at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Jaclyn loves to help keep the human animal bond healthy with preventative medicine and also has a special interest in internal medicine. She enjoys spending time outside of work hiking, painting, and doing projects around the house. She shares her home with fiancé, and their Bernedoodle, Moose.

Today is “World Spay Day” and Merlin - the esteemed and very purrfessional veterinary surgeon* - is here to remind you to spay and neuter your pets!

Spaying/neutering is proven to save the lives of our beloved companion animals and help the ongoing struggle against animal overpopulation. Today serves as awareness of our global responsibility to advocate and help our furry friends who can’t advocate for themselves. Not only is spaying and neutering a powerful tool in preventing overpopulation, but it serves as a very important protection against serious health issues, including certain cancers. We know that every animal is different, so always talk to your veterinarian about what is best for your pet!
