Struggling with your dog’s tummy woes? Plain canned pumpkin (not pie filling) is a natural remedy to help soothe digestion. Its fiber can ease diarrhea and constipation effectively. Just a spoonful for small dogs or more for larger breeds may provide relief. Always consult your vet before introducing new remedies. Have questions? Contact us at 519-571-7221.

Cracked paw pads might look just like dry skin, but they can signal something deeper, especially if they split, bleed, or make walking painful. Dehydration, allergies, salt from winter roads, or nutritional imbalances are all potential causes. Hydrating balms can help, but chronic cracks need our attention. Contact us at 519-571-7221 so we can investigate your pup’s paw issues. Don’t forget to use paw balm or booties in extreme weather!

Cats need regular checkups to stay happy and healthy. We recommend that adult cats have a wellness exam at least once a year. Senior cats or those with health issues may need to visit more frequently to catch problems early. Regular visits help keep them feeling their best and can identify health concerns before they become serious.

If you have questions about your cat’s care, reach out at 519-571-7221 — we’re here to help!

1: “Hello, my name is Nori!” (Swipe ➡️)
2: “Is that a treat?!”
3: “It’s a needle! Oh no…”
4: I dare you to try….

Nori may have been suspicious at first, but she was so brave for her vaccines and let us know that our treats for a distraction were top-tier!

🌟 We are currently welcoming new patients! If you have any questions about what a first visit would look like at our hospital with your new pet, please call, email, or even drop by during office hours and our team would be happy to chat with you! 😊

Did you know your dog’s digestive health can impact their mood and behavior? The gut isn’t just for digestion; it’s packed with neurons that constantly communicate with the brain. A disrupted microbiome can lead to anxiety, reactivity, and even depression. Adding probiotics and avoiding sudden diet changes as well as reducing stress can support a healthy gut and a happier pup! Has your dog’s behavior changed with a diet switch? Contact us at 519-571-7221 for more personalized care for your pet.

Some cat breeds are more prone to hidden ear issues than others. Cats with folded ears, long hair, or large open ears – such as Scottish Folds, Persians, or Siamese – are more susceptible to moisture and debris buildup, which leads to infections. Check their ears weekly for good measure and look for redness, discharge, or excess wax. Not sure if your cat is experiencing ear issues? Contact us at 519-571-7221 today for expert advice and care.

Trimming your kitten's nails can be tricky, especially for the first time! Be sure to use pet nail clippers. Trim their nails regularly to keep them from getting too long. Choose the right time! Wait until your kitten is relaxed or tired. Make sure to trim only the white part of the nail! Cutting the nail too short can be painful. And use positive reinforcement and rewards to signify their good behavior.
