🐾 This is stunning little girl is Sage! (est 1 year old, spayed female)🐾

Sage was rescued as a stray with her babies in the bush, hungry, cold, and tired. Their rescuers are now fostering the little family until they find real fur-ever homes of their own.

Sage is a sweetheart who loves to be the center of attention. She loves to bounce around and play, but is also a big fan of lazy cuddles on the couch! She would much rather be an indoor/outdoor cat as her favourite hobby is bird watching and chasing. She loves her kitty companions but we aren't sure how she is around larger dogs. With proper introductions and patience, I believe she would do great in a household with other pets!

🐾 Meet 9 month old Miss Butterfly, the last of her litter still awaiting her furever home 🐾

Butterfly and her three siblings were found alone in the cold when their amazing rescuer brought them to the shelter. Butterfly spent her life growing up in a loving foster home and she is hoping to finally have her very own furever family. She is a very good girl, a bit shy at first, but with patience and gentle introductions, she blossoms into the sweetest dog who loves to play and is eager to please. She loves other dogs and cats, tending to submit when a higher energy dog is introduced, to her but still loves to play and be around! She is virtually housetrained and she is not at all a destructive puppy! She spends most of her time playing with her puppy pals or patiently waiting for her cuddles from her favourite people!

Well it sure feels real now! Our expansion building has been delivered to its temporary location & now the work & fundraising begin! Our staff are super excited, knowing that this expansion will allow us to care for our new dog intakes in their very own ward, which will virtually prevent disease transmission to our healthy, longer term residents. We have a ways to go to bring to operational, but we can definitely see the vision!!! Many thanks to Alex of Wildrose Enterprises & his boys for all their help today with getting the site ready, moving our storage shed, & assisting our truck driver in getting the trailer situated!! You guys made it happen for us & we can't thank you enough ♡

Hoping someone can help us with transporting our outdoor run panels from South of Ponoka/just west of Morningside to LLB!!!

Great news! The panels for our outdoor runs on the new New Intake/Dog Isolation addition have arrived & just been unloaded! We ordered them back in May, so we are super excited that they not only arrived on time, but with time to spare! Our order includes 10x 5' gates & 12x 7' side panels (photo is just a sample to show the type of panels)...any help from anyone who will be in the Ponoka area anytime in the near future would be greatly appreciated

🐾 This is our lovely Daisie 🐾

Miss Daisie is a spayed, 2-year-old, orange tabby cat. She is dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped! All set for her new fur-ever home!

When Daisie was first introduced to the shelter, she was a very nervous and timid girl, she fled her rescuer's arms to hide under a vehicle in the shelter parking lot. Now this precious gal is sweeter than candy! She loves all the cuddles she can get and she greets everyone at the door!

Daisie hasn't shown any signs of bad behavior while here in the shelter. She uses the litter box appropriately, doesn't scratch furniture or walls, and doesn't start scraps among the other shelter cats! She is a bit standoffish towards dogs, but with some patience and proper introductions, she has the potential to be the perfect buddy for all!

🐾 Our brilliant Medusa 🐾

Medusa is a spayed, 9-month-old, Terrier mix. She is vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped, all ready for her very own fur-ever home!

Medusa came to the shelter with 3 other siblings. They were all babies, small enough to hold in your hands. Now she is all grown up and ready to live her real life in a home!
Medusa isn't one to have accidents indoors and she crate trained herself! She can be a shyer gal, but with proper introductions and some time to warm up, she blossoms into the most amazing companion anyone could ask for. Medusa doesn't really care for cats but she needs a home with another dog, with her nerves, a fuzzy companion helps her open up and share her happy and bright personality.

🐾Say hello to Twix!🐾

Twix is a 7-month-old Sharpei mix! She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped! All set for her future fur-ever home!

Twix was a few weeks old when their litter was brought to us, now she is the last of her litter available for adoption. Twix has an amazing personality and a bright spirit!

She has an amazing fondness for all, she loves cats, dogs, kids, and everyone! Her favourite pastime is to lay on your lap and snuggle all day and night. She is still working on her potty training, only a piddle in the house occasionally.
Twix would be the perfect dog to keep outside, she loves laying in the sun and playing in the grass, plus a nice thick coat when winter rolls around. She is a very social dog with polite manners, I strongly suggest she goes to a home with pets, or even a farm!

Twix is untested with livestock, but based on her personality and with the proper introductions, no doubt in my mind that she would be spectacular!

🐾 Welcome Miss Thelma 🐾

This gorgeous gal is a 6-month-old spayed female German Shepherd, all set for her future furever home! Thelma is a shyer pup, likely due to a rough start, but with gentle exposure to new things, she has amazing potential to be the perfect companion! She was found wandering alone with her sister in empty fields for a number of weeks before being brought to the shelter where she has been learning to open up and discover more. She is more social and friendly now that she is independent from her sister, but her very own loving family would make her the best version of herself!

Thelma is still learning about potty training but tends to be naturally clean, so she likely will house-train quite easily. She needs gradual, gentle introductions to kids and other pets as she is quite timid by nature! She is a very bright girl who is eager to please the humans she loves!

Rose is possibly a Shepherd/Collie mix. She was in our care once before but, due to unfortunate circumstances & no fault of her own, she has found her way back here. When first brought to us, she was extremely thin & gave us strong indicators that she had an abusive past. With consistent meals & love, she bloomed before us & is now just a sweet & lovely girl

The poor boy was found out in the cold rain, hungry, with 4 other male huskies. He was wandering around 91st Ave for about a week before getting picked up and brought to the shelter. 🐾 Say hi to Tuke! 🐾

This handsome man is a neutered, 1-year-old, husky mix. He is vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped, all ready for a new fur-ever home!

He was found free-roaming with 4 other male huskies along 91st Ave, it was raining all week and he was very hungry. The boys all were trapped by Animal Control and brought to the shelter where they got full tummies and lots of love! Now they are super sweet boys with lots of potential.

Tuke does amazing with other dogs, hasn't shown any cat aggression, and after a few sit-downs, he does great with new people! He is a bit wary of men (as were the other 4) at the start, but he does warm up and is so loving!

🐾 These are our Charlie's Angels 🐾

3 months old, two females (Alex and Natalie) and one male (Bosley). All have had their first sets of vaccines and microchipped. Amazing with the litter box and super cuddly/friendly!

These 3 babies came from a colony of 38! They had sniffly noses and upset tummies, but now they feel amazing and look wonderful! They are all bright and at it like regular kittens, enjoying the home life their foster has provided and munching away on decent food.

Now our adorable babies are happy and healthy, they are looking for a real fur-ever home. If you or someone you know is interested in a spectacular and adorable companion, one of the Charlie's Angels kittens are the perfect choice!

The shelter is always a very busy place & we are now in kitten season! We have 2 litters of bottle babies already & likely will have more. You can help!...

The shelter is no place for tiny babies...they need lots of love & snuggles while their immune systems develop. We provide all the materials & guidance, & it's a great way for families to experience a litter without "just letting her have one litter" from your own kitty, which adds to already overcrowded shelters ❤ We also get litters in that are too young to be adopted as they are vulnerable to disease & also learning how to be cats from each other, so we do our best to place them in loving foster homes!

IMPORTANT REMINDER! It's kitten season once again...please DO NOT feed this product (or products like it) to orphaned kittens as milk replacer...it is NOT nutritionally balanced milk replacer & tends to cause severe tummy upset to nursing kittens. There are homemade recipes that will work better in a pinch, & "Kitten Milk Replacer" like KMR or Esbilac are even better as they are nutritionally formulated especially for those fragile little tummies ❤

She is a spayed, 5-year-old, solid black female cat. She is up to date with her vaccines, has a microchip, and has had her rounds of dewormer!

Update from Wednesday's foster:
She's a very quirky kitty. She's always begging for pets but would prefer to pet herself on your hand. She loves butt smacks and head scratches. If she doesn't get enough attention she'll lay on her side and kick her front paws. Her new favorite thing is lying in the morning sun. She's also discovered catnip toys and loves them! She will carry the little catnip fish around the house until she finds the perfect place to play with it. Wednesday can be super cuddly when she wants to be or she likes to lay down beside you.

Due to the unprecedented number of stray animals within Lac La Biche County, we may not always have the capacity to intake new dogs. In the event that you have a stray animal causing concern at a time where we are at capacity, if you are able to foster the animal (or know someone who can) until a kennel opens up, all supplies and medical care will be provided to support you. If you would like more information regarding fostering animals in need, please contact the Lac La Biche Regional Humane Society at 780-520-7297. Each animal being fostered in a loving home is one less in shelter or turned away due to capacity constraints.

Bill is ~1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped! He was surrendered to us a while back because they couldn't take care of him, now he's in our care and available for adoption!

🐾 Miss Kitty has been one of our longest-staying feline residents in our care, she has been in foster since September 2023! She is an older gal, ~8yrs! 🐾

MK was left behind when her previous owners moved and the neighbor brought her into our care. Since then she has been vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and shown as much love as possible!

Miss Kitty is a very well-behaved and soft gal. She has no inappropriate behaviors, loves to bask in the fresh air outside, and adores other cats! She is currently in a foster home with two other cats and a litter of kittens!

🐾This here is our sweet Amelia, her new foster has given us some updates!🐾

Amelia is a 2-year-old terrier mix with a very loving and sweet personality! She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped!

Amelia is a very smart and outgoing young dog who loves to live it up with the people she trusts. This poor girl has some nerves but she warms up fairly fast! We don't know her previous history because she was found as a stray, but we have known her for the past few months in our care and she is spectacular!

Amelia rarely has an accident inside, she doesn't chew on things that aren't hers, and she sleeps on her own bed leaving her people's beds alone. Amelia is also bilingual! She knows basic commands like sit and come both in English and French!

She is truly a wonderful dog that needs a fur-ever home of her own. She has gotten over her fear of hopping into trucks and she is less nervous around men! She also does amazing with cats, dogs of all sizes, and children! With slow and proper introductions, I do believe she would be fantastic with livestock.

Tia is a spayed, 1-year-old tortoiseshell cat. She is dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped! All set for her future fur-ever home!

Tia was a lonely stray, she was found outside last winter but nobody was sure where she belonged. She was hungry and cold when some amazing rescuers took her to the shelter. She hasn't been here long but we have seen just how much she has grown, not only because of a full tummy, but her spirit has grown!

🐾Meet beautiful miss Coral!🐾

Coral is a spayed female orange tabby, ~1yr old, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped!

This poor kitty was found as a stray before some sweet samaritan rescued her and brought her here to the shelter. When we brought her in for her spay, we were shocked to find out she would've had 6 kittens! Now she is here free roaming with the other kitties, living her best life basking in the sunlight.

She can be a little crabby towards other cats but she is super loving towards people! She is fully litter traine and the only things she scratches are her toys and posts. Coral is a very affectionate kitty and would love to be a part of your fur-ever home!

These are our Charlie's Angels babies!
Meet Alex, Bosley, and Natalie!
They are all 3 months old, vaccinated, dewormed, and will be fixed in a few months!

The kittens were picked up from a colony of 38! They weren't feeling too good and starving, so we immediately got to work nursing them back to health, now these babies are happy, healthy, and ready for a fur-ever home!

All three have plenty of energy followed by rhythmic purrs, and each has a brilliant personality! If you want to add a young, growing kitty to your family, I think one of the Charlie's Angels would be the best choice.

🐾 Look at this handsome young man, Crispin 🐾

He is a neutered, 6-month-old, white and black kitty. He has been dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped, all set for his forever family!

Crispin came from a colony of 38! He was a small and hungry boy that needed our help. A wonderful rescuer picked him and 7 others from the group and brought them here to us! The other 30 made it to various other shelters including the Fort Mac SPCA!

Since his arrival, we got to see Crispin's true personality shine through, he is a very friendly boy who loves to wrestle his brother. He uses his litter box like a champ and doesn't scratch at any of the furniture or walls! He is a very well-mannered boy who loves to play with string toys and springs, but his favourite pastime of all is sitting in your lap and enjoying all the cuddles!
