THIS FRIDAY!!!! I've got a GREAT prize for the best dressed pup! 🥳
THIS FRIDAY!!! I have a wicked awesome prize for the best dressed pup! 🥳
Miss Lola Bean, she is about 5 months old and the sweetest little thing.
Her mom and dad have only ever had small dogs, and she is going to be quite a bit bigger than they are used to. That being said, they are so committed to her success. Here are some clips of our last few visits together.
PS. I just love her 😍
Soccer practice exposure.
It's funny when I watched the video her pop of the bed half a second early seemed much earlier than it did in real life, or I would have put her back and made her wait.
Always room for improvement. Record you and your dog, this is when you will find those moments that need some tightening up.
Exposure Exposure Exposure my friends.
If you do the work, I promise it will pay off.
Much love,
Jord 💓
We needed some practice on the heel. I spent 40 minutes rotating through these 3, reinforcing the heel to Bear and Sadie and teaching it to Kronk.
Sadie had done it about 12 times before I recorded it, so she looks sloppy because by this point, she was. 😆
The heel position is an important behavior that dogs can learn. It involves walking calmly and closely next to their owner's leg, usually on the left side. This doesn't matter unless you're participating in certain events. Do what feels right.
This behavior is important for many reasons - it can establish the owner's leadership and control over the dog, it can help the dog learn to focus and pay attention, and it can also be a practical behavior for situations like crossing the street or navigating crowded areas.
Additionally, walking in the heel position can be a great way to bond with your dog and provide them with mental and physical stimulation. Overall, teaching your dog to walk in the heel position is a valuable skill that can benefit both you and your furry friend.
All 3 of them are pooped.
Miss Poppy came for a day train today!
Poppy is a 7 month old excitable lab, pug, terrier mix that loves everyone and everything.
Today, we worked on managing her jumping from excitement and impulse control when the kids walked into the room. We went for a walk with a familiar friend, visited @wagsholisticpet, worked on our place, and, of course, had a short snuggle ❤️
Thanks for coming, Poppy 😘
*I did one with music and one without so beware of the crazy dog lady symphony in this one*
Morning shenanigans. Yup, the phone goes flying.

March is a month that carries a lot of meaning for me. It's the month where I lost Abigail but gained Sadie, and where the road I thought I was headed down changed direction. It's a month I'm grateful for in more ways than one. A month where, even though there was heartache, there was great love.
It's funny how you "picture" your life a certain way for so long, and then out of the blue, your world starts shifting a way you never could have even imagined.
I have been in Healthcare for almost 20 years, and I will be 36 this July. I went to work with my mom at the care center long before I started working as a health care aide and then eventually a nurse.
I became a nurse because being able to hold someone's hand as they took their last breath, feeding someone's grandma when they could no longer hold a spoon, or listening to a worried mom on the other end of the phone unsure of what to do next is a job that holds so much honor. I didn't think anything could or ever would be able to match it. Not for me anyway.
And then...
Then, I walked into an animal shelter for the first time.
This was something that broke my heart, yet was there when my heart needed healing. This was something that spoke deeper to me than anything I had ever done before.
I love nursing, I love helping people, it's something that's ingrained in me and I'm not ready to give that up. The reason I'm telling you this is that I want you to know it's ok to change your mind and your path.
As a matter of fact, if you find something that lights your soul on fire, my goodness friend, go for it.
There is a good chance you will change your life and someone else's in the process.
I'm here cheering you on just like so many of you have done and continue to do for me. 💖
Much love,
Jord 🥰
