Our team consists of four veterinarians, four registered animal health technologists, and two veterinary assistant/receptionists. We strive to give the highest level of service and pride ourselves in keeping up to date with the most current medical technology and procedures.

Our final pup, Ruthie F.I.G!

Ruthie F.I.G is a mixed breed dog who belongs to Laurel, one of our Veterinarians!

Ruthie F.I.G. was indeed “found in garbage” and ended up at a rescue. What she lacks in problem solving skills and long term memory she makes up for in limb and tail length. Ruthie’s excessive upper lip/cheek skin tends to give her a pleasant “double chin” vibe, and is noted to flap gloriously mid zoomies. She enjoys drinking water and breaking into the pantry.

This little fluffball is Kylo!

Kylo is a Bichon X who belongs to our VMA, Bianca! He loves to play with his feline sister, Caterpillar. He specifically likes to play with duck toys and his absolute favourite thing to do is to eat anything he possibly can.

Say HELLO to Reuben!

Reuben is a German Shepherd who belongs to Dr. Peter! While he’s still just a young pup, he does enjoy an early 9pm bedtime curled up with his favourite teddy. He loves eating fresh soil and somehow always seems to attract Dr. Peter’s honey bees but they are not his friends….

Maisie is a Border Collie who belongs to Dr. Cindy! Maisie loves long walks, chasing squirrels or rabbits and playing fetch!

Maynard belongs to Megan, who is one of our Veterinary Medical Assistants. Maynard loves to chase birds any chance he gets. He is a poster child for dogs with allergies, but that doesn’t make him any less loveable.

Meet Sadie and Frank!

Sadie is a Staffy X who belongs to our RVT, Miranda! She is a sassy old lady who loves to chase squirrels, play with her fur-brother and snuggle on the couch for a good nap!

Frank is a Pug who belongs to our RVT, Sarah-Lynn! Frank loves to be attached to his mom's hip at all times. He can often be found either sun bathing or scavenging for every scap/particle of food he can find. Best swiffer a girl can own!

Around here, O’Dell is known for her lonnnnng snout! We often call her “Needle Nose” or “Ant Eater” but she doesn’t mind because she loves everyone!

Ducky is a Pekinese X who belongs to our RVT, Jenna! Ducky craves violence, loves salt and vinegar chips and can lick her eyeballs! She does not recommend licking eyeballs after eating salt and vinegar chips.

Trinket is a Staffy X who belongs to Shawntelle, our VMR! She’s only 9 months old, LOVES people, and can often be found asleep with toys in her mouth. Her ears are always inside out AND she’s never done the stairs so she has no idea there’s a basement in her house!

Meet Annie! Annie belongs to our RVT, Mollie. She’s a 4 year old Border Collie X who loves swimming in her pool, playing with her cat siblings and running around on the farm!

This busy little guy came in today for his first kitten examination and vaccines!

He received his leukaemia and FVRCP vaccine today and will be back in a month for his next set of kitten vaccines.

We all know chocolate is toxic to dogs, but do you know why?

Theobromine is the main ingredient in chocolate that causes all the problems. Humans are able to easily metabolize theobromine while dogs process it slowly. This allows these toxic compounds to build up in their systems and cause the clinical signs associated with chocolate toxicity.

Not all chocolate is the same! Bakers chocolate and cocoa are considered to be the most toxic, then dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate.

So what happens if your dog eats chocolate? The clinical signs associated with chocolate toxicity can be tremors, heart arrhythmias, internal bleeding and/or seizures. These symptoms are generally proceeded by extreme excitement.

Chocolate toxicity is no joke, so if you suspect your pet has eaten chocolate, contact your veterinarian immediately!
