With Halloween today it's important to know what to do for a dog who is fearful of fireworks. First and foremost, don't coddle your dog if he becomes scared. When you tell your dog "it's okay baby" He thinks you are telling him it is ok to act fearful. It's not. You want to turn his fear response into a happy response. Make it a game. Clap your hands and get excited and playful. Jump up and down and be happy. Throw treats to your dog, turn his fear into fun. You can practice this ahead of time for the best results. I also recommend putting cotton in your dogs ears and turn up the radio or TV, so that fireworks are not as loud and scary.

Due to unforeseen behavioural issues we have to rehome the dog. My parents unfortunately cannot manage the energy and Angels mental health really deteriorated when they moved from Nanaimo to Victoria - from a home with a double lot and huge backyard to a smaller home with no back yard.

I wanted to let u know that my parents r trying to find a new home for her and thought u may know of someone or might want her back (just putting it out there). Angel is also not spayed, thought that might be a detail of interest

Angel is a wonderful dog who loves people and being active — she just needs more time, space, and energy than we can give right now. We love her deeply and want her to go to a home where she’ll thrive.
