I am extremely late to the game on this post but felt like Mother Nature said “hold my beer…watch this” with the hurricane-ish like weather last weekend at the Pacific Regional Dressage Chamionships at Tbird. Super proud of the Hirkala dressage team!!! Everyone did well especially considering the weather- Dorit debuted at Fourth level, Erika rocked her First level tests as did Sarai at Second level. Josie got First Level Open Reserve Champion at her second show ever despite having the ring blow over twice in her test…what a good girl. We had a blast and shared a lot of laughs AND I have photographic proof Kris does actually leave the farm albeit it is like finding Bigfoot in being an extremely rare event 🤣.

Driving back from the Pacific Regional Dressage Championships held at the beautiful Thunderbird Show Park . What a fantastic show that Ali, Sarah and all the volunteers put on thank you very much!! The Hirkala Dressage team had a great showing with Dorit getting solid scores in her Third levels tests and getting an 8.0 for her changes 👍, Karla and Cooper rode the FEI small tour getting great scores but also getting the comment of lovely changes from FEI judge Hilda Gurney 💕, Kristin has done a great job developing her young, elegant mare Wren making a challenging horse look easy and getting some great scores at first level, Linda piloted her Casanova (aka Ninja) laying down some great first level tests 🤩, Jenna and I overcame the curse of the tempis from friday to end with a clean test and a 68 and change for a 2nd, and the stunning liver chestnut Casper won Second Level Open Champion getting 2 scores of 69+....good boy buddy!!! Big thank you to Leslie Reid for all your coaching and advice...very grateful. Thank you so much to Custom Saddlery, Saddlefit Canada and Pioneer horseline for making me and the horses comfortable aaaand fashionable. 😁 @ Thunderbird Show Park

Southlands Dressage show...had so much fun spending it with my Hirkala Dressage peeps. As always we had a blast despite the sogginess of Saturday. All the horses were amazing with Zoe and Carlos bringing home the FEI Junior Championship and Casper and I the First Level Championship. Jenna was her amazing golden self and put down 2 great PSG tests and Kristin piloted Wren in her first show ever...so proud of Wren she handled everything so well. Kristin has done a great job bringing her along. Here are some photos from the weekend...we love our sport but also enjoy a good laugh. We will be back! @ Southlands Riding Club

Sooo who rocked their third level tests today at the Kelowna Riding Club show yesterday with scores of 67 and 72??? Yup this guy 😍👏. It has been so cool to see him develop into a confident athlete. Dorit and Raul have been working so hard and it shows!! Big shout out to Ann and her awesome mare Akilah for also rocking their third level tests! Feel so grateful to get to work with such awesome people and their horses...thrilled to have you both as part of the Hirkala Dressage family. There is no silver bullet just grit, patience and hard work and it shows. Congrats ladies and thanks to the show organizers!

It is always a great day when I get the chance to ride my red beastie...she is enjoying teaching my students the ropes and I love that all my students love her like I do. She puts a smile on my face every time I ride her. @ Hirkala Dressage

Some of my favourite pictures from the Vernon Dressage show and Cleo’s retirement ceremony. She is my heart horse 🐴💕 and am glad I get to retire her at the peak of her game she deserves nothing less. I will enjoy being a part of her teaching my students the awesomeness of dressage. She ended on a 62 in her Grand Prix test today and I couldn’t be happier with this little red horse. Many thanks to all who came out to support Cleo and I at our last show and especially to the Hirkala Dressage Family as we truly are a family and I love each one of you. Speaking of the team...congratulations to Zoe Urban for winning the Gold first level champion on Casper, congratulations to Karla Waller and her Super Arab, Cooper, for knocking out a 64 on their second outing at PSG, congratulations to Tracy Godfrey for killing it in her first go ever at third level and getting a 64.5 and congratulations to Kristin Collins for her beautiful Third level test and being an inspiration to everyone in what she has accomplished with her paint mare, Chicara. Great riding all. Special thanks to Custom Saddlery for keeping my horses and their rider happy in their amazing saddles and to Pioneer horseline for their stunning and comfortable riding boots!! Also thank you to Suzanne Wallace, Sherri Paiement, KC Jollymour and the crew at the show for another great show!! The show was so much fun, well organized and the facility stunning. Can’t wait to share in such great times with great people at the next show!!

Well that wraps up another Kamloops Dressage show under the belt of Hirkala Dressage. We had a ton of fun, great rides and had a blast catching up with everyone. Zoe despite getting bucked off the cart 😂 got Gold Training level on Casper, Karla Waller and Cooper made their debut at PSG, Kristin rode a beautiful Third level test but unfortunately got the flu Saturday so we were a man down on Sunday 🤢🙁, Dorit brought Raul to school to help him get over his show nerves and he “adulted” like a pro. Well done all!!! My heart horse, Cleo, and I danced down centreline again and rode the Grand Prix (so grateful for getting ring time at this level). I am so ridiculously proud of her and all we have accomplished together. I have trained her from training level to Grand Prix getting scores up to 67 at PSG and scores from 60-63 in the Grand Prix she is so special to me. She is not your typical dressage horse being a draft/paint cross but she believes in me and I believe in her 💕. We have been together 9 years now and she has nothing left to prove in the show ring so I have made the decision that after the Vernon Dressage show in July she will be retired from the FEI ring happy, healthy and sound. The FEI curtain for Cleo and I will be closing but I will still enjoy riding her at home and taking her in a few clinics. She will now be a superstar at teaching my students the ropes. Time to let the next generation of ponies to shine in the ring. Well that’s all folks and time to now get back to work as the awesome tack shops at the show parted me with my money 💰. Big shout out to Krista Kay and Custom Saddlery for their unbelievable saddles and support as well as to Pioneer Horseline for their stunning riding boots. @ Sun Meadows Equestrian Centre
