Meet Riley.

This handsome gentle soul arrived at our rescue after being saved from the slaughter pipeline. His past experiences have left him understandably nervous around people, but we see a sweet spirit shining through. Riley is also blind in his left eye, but this doesn't stop him from enjoying life. He's learning to trust again, and with patience and kindness, we know he'll blossom. Mocha

Mocha is a retired Standardbred mare with a heart of gold. This gentle giant boasts a rich chocolate brown coat and a kind spirit that melts even the coldest of hearts. After a successful racing career, Mocha was sadly deemed unsuitable for breeding and faced a bleak future.

Fortunately, Mocha's luck took a turn for the better. Rescued from the brink of euthanasia, she now enjoys a peaceful retirement with her pasture mates, Daisy and Pirate. Mocha's story serves as a reminder of the importance of finding loving homes for retired racehorses and giving them a second chance at happiness.

So Winnie is her best friend, Winnie is thrilled that both her and Ally gained a sponsor this past month! Winnie loves being groomed and going for walks with her friend Ally. When it's muddy Winnie loves a good roll in the mud ! I'm sure she does it just so she can get a good bath after, because she sure loves a good bath 🛁

Today marks a hard day for us here on the farm. Before we became a registered charity our founder Deb had her own little happy herd of creatures, as time moves on we have said goodbye to many but that never makes it any easier.

Today we lost and original herd member, not a rescue but still very near and dear to our hearts.

Our little girl Cheyenne has crossed over the rainbow bridge, after a long happy healthy life here at Old friends, she parted us peacefully last night in the care of our terrific vet team atWales Equine Veterinary Services Ltd. We are so grateful for their kindness, compassion, and attention to care.

Cheyenne was always feeling frisky, escaping her paddock to go and visit her friends, or just even to romp around the property. Calling out in excitement at dinner time. Being one of the best cart mules I've ever had the pleasure of driving. We love and miss her immensely already. we hope your rolling in ever dirt pile and running free up there little lady. We are forever grateful for the time you gave to us.
