A little more about our recent IABCA show...

We also entered "Max" Purehearts Dealers Choice, who earned his International Championship.

Sire: AmCH Wallylama's I'm All In CGC NTD (US)

Max was handled by myself for a total of 5 shows and he is definitively improving and coming into his own. We received nice feedback and some tips for making improvements.

The panel of judges included Margaret Jones (CAN), Janice Schreiber (USA), Karen Scholz (USA), Grant Townsend (CAN), and Betty Winthers (USA).

Again, I liked a lot of things about this style of show including the laid back atmosphere, generous time to interact with the judges, the Judges Critiques, the Family Group, optional seminar, and more. My discussions with judges were definitely informative! One judge shared that most AKC judges have never seen anything but the American type ESS, another talked about the colours allowed in the standard that aren't exactly favoured in the ring for both the ECS and ESS. After being stumped at some odd input on the size of our dogs from one very elderly judge, we suspect they had mistaken both dogs for an English Cocker Spaniel. Another judge wasn't aware that the AKC standard had been amended to allow for an undocked tail. Finally one judge said that writing the critiques was good for them as well, forcing them to think about their choices and reasons for them.

We tried something new this past weekend... an International Show (European style) with the IABCA. "Bonzo" Purehearts Fluke of Fortune earned his SR Puppy NatCH and IntCH titles at 10 months old! 🎖️

Sire: MultiCH Timanka's Expensive Money (Denmark)

Bonzo was handled beautifully by his owner Maria for a total of 5 shows including a couple of Group 1s! We received some nice feedback on Bonzo, particularly his movement and I think we're both looking forward to more shows with him soon. The panel of Judges included Margaret Jones (CAN), Janice Schreiber (USA), Karen Scholz (USA), Grant Townsend (CAN), and Betty Winthers (USA).

This was a different style of show than I'm used to and overall it was a worthwhile experience. It was especially nice to get a more intimate encounter and individual critique from each Judge. There were some things that I really liked about this show, give it a try if you've never been or want to try something new!

Well another year has come and gone, in what feels like the blink of an eye...

Last year had its highs and lows. Between litters, work and family, there have been moments of celebration and moments of sadness. We've made new friends and kept the old too. Some times the school of hard knocks taught us a lesson, while other times we had the luck of the Irish on our side. No matter what came our way, the grace of God kept us going. That is after all the way life goes, and I'm thankful for all it brings my way.

We hope that whatever 2025 looked like, you are able to look forward to 2026 with hope!

We are happy to share that this breeding was successful and pregnancy has been confirmed via ultrasound. Puppies are coming soon to Pureheart Spaniels!

This big news is that we've moved ahead with this breeding! A confirmed breeding Aleah has now been bred to Magnus. Since the dad-to-be lives in Denmark, this was breeding was completed via frozen semen shipped to us from across the globe.

- We had some much needed 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 from Lorianne, Teresa, Gill & Allison, I couldn't have made it through the weekend without these ladies.
- We had both 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘦 & 𝘉𝘰𝘯𝘻𝘰'𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘶𝘴 for the last show, so a big thanks to Maria & Phil and Lesley & Michael for making the trek out.
- We had 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 from fellow exhibitors to Judge Barbara Arndt who took the time to express her admiration of Max and our dogs.
- We had some challenges to overcome such as this being Bonzo's very 1st dog show and Charlie being in heat.

Overall the weekend brought a range of emotions from lows to highs, the highlight was 𝕄𝕒𝕩 𝕨𝕚𝕟𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝔹𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕕 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕙𝕚𝕤 ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕞𝕡𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕡! ⁣This was especially exciting because not only did I solely handle Max but he is our *1st Homebred Champion*!

We are getting ready for a show this weekend. We will have Charlie, Max, and Bonzo. Charlie & Max have been to a few shows now but this is a first for Bonzo. Wish us luck!
