Aleah is always affectionate but lately she's sticking pretty close to me. Tonight she scootched right up on me and I didn't have the heart to move her to the end of the bed, so she's snoozing while I watch some TV. Hopefully, this is a good sign.

They adore Miss Lilly "Yilyi". They were visiting today and decided to do some training. Their treat of choice was leftover macaroni, she was happy to comply. 🐾
The puppies first snow, it was the perfect experience just soft and fluffy. They had a blast and gave me a good chuckle!
But Green Boy is a snuggler!

Here is a quick video of us doing a Puppy Culture exercise called the Barrier Challenge. The idea is to present the puppy with a mildly challenging situation and provide support for them to overcome it. By presenting lots of little challenges and supporting the puppy to overcome them, they learn to be confident and resilient, less fearful of unknown or uncomfortable situations.

We've now entered the Critical Socialization Period. They are officially toddling little puppies, exploring their new world with curiosity and joy. They have spent some time in the kitchen running free while we cook, which was too much at first but they are starting to adjust to this new environment.
It appears they are having some fun with toys, but still prefer to nibble ears and bite tails. No one is safe now that their teeth have emerged. You can hear the occasional growl or yelp as they set boundaries with one another.
They've moved onto softened kibble, next up dry food and treats. Weights have increased for everyone, between 2.5 to 3.5 lbs at this point.
We've begun sound desensitization and classical music for playtime. They are now spending days in a separate play area than the night sleeping area, to help reinforce the difference. With the Puppy Culture program, we continue with a new object each day and have added our first challenge, the food behind the barrier.
I'm loving these puppies and thoroughly enjoying my time with them. This is good because there is lots of work ahead to prepare them for life with their new families.
We tried for a group shot this week since we plan to do stacked photos soon. We got lots of photos, just not quite the kind we had imagined. Enjoy the bloopers (and wish me better luck for next time).
