So excited how Miss Nelly is coming along! We bought her a few months back and gave her lots of time to settle, gain a few pounds and get her feet sorted. This month she has proven she will be a excellent lesson horse in the near future! Good riding Mckenna!!

Such a great week at the BC Summer Games.

Austyn competed in Show Jumping with a Equitation score each day. She rode beautifully, the mare was amazing. She went into the overall ride off today in second but her top score earned her the gold!

Day #1 - Bronze
Day #2- Gold
Day #3 - 4th
Day #4- Gold

A big part of the games is having proper turnout and doing all the work yourself (minus night checks and breakfast, thank you adult supervisors!). She did 99% of it alone, she was respectful to her coaches and other athletes. It was her first time having to cork and her first time showing on the grass and first time in a Eq type format. This kid blew us away with her positive attitude and overall confidence in herself and her horse.

We are so proud. Thank you Austyn for being you.

Lease to own Program

We have introduced a friendly option for buyers that are local. This will allow the potential buyer to be more certain of their purchase!

We are offering 1-3 month trials at our barn, it can be ended at anytime if the fit is not right or moved to a different horse that might be a better fit. Cost to trial is a basic lease fee with 50% going towards purchase. Weekly lessons with us to get to know the horse and a great bonding period to make the transition easier. We want happy horses and happy owners so will do our best to provide that!

Not all sale horses are included in this so please contact us to see what we have available.

At the current time we have two 3 yr olds one dressage and one hunter. A great all around gelding, a nice 4 yr old jumper, a unicorn pony and a lovely hunter/jumper mare.

Our winner in the open .90 today. Round 1 This is Austyns first show doing the .90’s and Lucia’s first show with a Jr!

We currently have no power and the wind is kinda crazy. The barn is locked up tight to keep water running. I think we need to reschedule all lessons for today! Horses are happy ❤️

The big guy! Everyone wants tall dark and handsome for a steal well here is your chance. Listed in the low 5’s ✨ make him up however you want him, he is willing to do what is asked! Heart of Gold "Paige" is available for sale (preferred) or a in barn lease. 2008 13.1HH Grade pony mare. Has been a huge part of our lives for many years. She taught both our kids how to ride and many other JR’s. She is super steady and has done it all hunters, jumpers, eventing, dressage, tiny tot lessons, vaulting, trail riding. She can be whoa or go depending on the level of the kid. Amazing ground manners, good for vet, farrier and loading/trailering. Is UTD with teeth and vaccinations, currently has a full set of shoes on for the season but can go barefoot. Takes new situations very well. 20k plus GST

2 yr old gelding L’Amore by Lestat he is available!

Pretty proud of the girls and Beezie today. Beezie hasn’t shown since before we moved here. This was her second round today and Hopes first as the sisters are sharing. Arliss started Beezie when she was younger (thanks Patti!) we owned her for a short while before selling her to a good friend and client. When it came time to sell her she was sent out here (thanks Leanne!). This mare holds a very special place in our hearts and we so excited for the Steeves! Beezie lost her eye as a young horse and is a true testament that being blind on one side will not stop them from doing their jobs it just takes time and trust!

This horse previously was not to happy to work but has shown lots of promise under Arliss guidance in a very short time. It was back to basics start at square one including dusting off his old saddle. We just hope to transfer the success over to his owner, we will see!!

Austyn & Penny’s jump off on Sunday. This was their winning jump off round 👏

Here is one of Miss Penelope & Hope’s rounds on the weekend. This was Penelope’s first show and Hope’s second show! They only had a few weeks of prep together. Penelope is a 6 yr old 12.3HH pony mare. She is available for lease (in barn only) or sale! They did absolutely amazing. 🤩

Miss Stella 🌟 isn’t she cute!?! This pony is available, we feel she is best suited to a rider in a regular lesson/training program. She is young (coming 4) has normal young horse traits but overall is super fun, willing and loves to work! Has shown, did super well coming home champion in her division. Easy to work with on the ground, loads well into the trailer. Also great for the farrier, tied or in cross ties and for clipping. She has been easy off property, settles in quick! About Us

Arliss & Cassie met in summer of 2002 , in 2006 they purchased 320 acres near Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. From 2006 to 2019 they operated Ace Equestrian a boarding, training lesson barn and show facility. The facility was complete with a beautiful indoor, multiple outdoors and a cross country course.

In 2015 they hosted a clinic that would forever change their lives. After a few years of discussing it and seeing how the industry was moving in Saskatchewan and wanting to be closer to their mentor they decided to list Ace to start a new adventure in Langley, BC. Thorbrooke Equestrian was born, Thorbooke represents their family names Thorsteinson and Bolingbroke.

Horses are their passion, that can be seen on a daily basis as they work together in the barn, and with each horse or student they train. They also have two Children Austyn and Vance, that are also very involved in the day to day activities.

Having worked with all breeds and in many disciplines, they now focus on hunter/jumper as their main discipline. Including dressage as a base for all their horses. Starting young horses with a solid foundation is very important to them, they work on the horses timeline not their own.
