There were always at least two dogs in her home and a cat or two! Michaela started dog walking when she felt like she was in a rut with her corporate life. With a background in management, graphic design, customer service, and admin, Michaela used all the skills she’s acquired to build a successful business that she loves and is passionate about. Every single day with her furry BFFs is a blessing!

Many of our clients have mentioned that Michaela has a calm and confident demeanour around dogs of all shapes and sizes. Because of this, we specialize in working with dogs who have extra needs or may struggle with anxiety. With years of hands-on experience and dog training under our belt, we are well-equipped to assist our furry friends! Every dog is unique and needs special care! 🐾 It’s me: Your friendly neighbourhood dog groomer! Big announcement here: I’m closing up shop. 🐾

While I will still be working with animals, I will no longer be offering grooming services. I’m very excited to start my new adventure working at an emergency veterinary hospital! 🏥 I’ve been working in the pet industry for 4+ years now & I am looking forward to applying everything I’ve learned in my new position!

Working as a dog groomer has been a wild ride with lots of growth, self-discovery, & many puppy kisses. 🐶💋 I am so thankful to every single one of my clients who have trusted me with their pups, given me creative freedom, & have come back time & time again. Your patronage has been very touching.

🐾✨ Meet Roxy, the Miniature Schnauzer ✨🐾

With her soft eyes, gentle nature, and picture-perfect beard, Roxy is the definition of poise. 💖

📜 A little breed history:
The Miniature Schnauzer first trotted onto the scene in late 19th-century Germany. Bred by crossing the Standard Schnauzer with smaller breeds like the Affenpinscher and Miniature Poodle, the goal was to create a smaller, sturdy farm dog. Their jobs included guarding the property, hunting rats, and being an all-around dependable companion.

Unlike most terriers, Mini Schnauzers aren’t known for being overly feisty — they’re intelligent, loyal, and adaptable. Their wiry double coat protects them from the elements. Their signature beard and eyebrows give them a distinguished, old-soul charm.

📣 Part Two: “Okay, but how do you groom dogs then?”
Great question. Pull up a seat. Let me paint a picture of what grooming looks like in my salon.

My salon is calm, quiet, and set up to feel like a little doggy spa. I rarely crate dogs — most are free to roam, nap, explore, or groan at me from the corner.

I often lock the salon doors while grooming, which means no foot traffic, no chaos, and no distractions — just me and your dog...vibin’ in peace.

I’m gentle (even if it doesn’t always look like it when I’m holding a squirmy pup), and I give every dog as many chances as possible to become my next Instagram model. 📸

BUT — some dogs just aren’t able to behave for the full process and that’s okay too. I’ll always be honest with you if your pup needs extra support or if I might not be the right groomer for them. It happens.

Still, my goal is the same every time:
A safe experience. A kind approach. A five-star groom 💫 (with cuddles and praise on the side).

Let’s break it down, friends. 🐾

I know it can be tempting to compare your pup’s fresh cut to those ✨glamorous Insta-dogs✨ that look like they just floated off of a cloud. But here’s the truth:

Not all dogs can—or should—get that “perfect finish” look. Why?

👉 Because grooming is a cooperative process.
And if your dog is anxious, reactive, wiggly, vocal, or just plain over it — that changes what’s safe and possible for me to do.

A dog who’s calm, conditioned to grooming, and able to stand still? That’s when I can really finesse those final touches. But if a dog is dancing, panicking, biting, or thrashing — my first priority is keeping them safe. 💛

✨ Perfection takes cooperation — and I’m always working toward it, one gentle groom at a time.

This lovable goof showed up ready to party — tail wagging at full speed and zero spatial awareness. 😂 I got smacked in the face by his tail multiple times! Occupational hazard, I guess? 🍑💨

Astro has a few spots where he chews at his skin due to irritation which meant his coat was a little uneven in places. Nothing a little grooming magic couldn’t fix! ✂️ I blended everything out and made sure he left lookin’ smooth, shiny, and golden-boy fabulous, ✨

…but the second I started grooming him? Chill. Zen. Basically a spa influencer. 🧖‍♂️

Golden Retrievers are SO fun to groom—those coats are unreal. 😍 Whether they’re soft, shiny blondes or deep auburn beauties, Goldens always leave the table lookin’ like a dog shampoo commercial. 🎬✨

Milo got the works: brush out, bath, deshed, tidy-up, and a little feathering finesse. And of course—he went back to being an adorable maniac immediately after. 😂

This little cloud ☁️ strutted into the salon looking cute as ever… but let’s just say his backend situation was less than ideal. 💩😅

Poor Leo had been feeling a bit under the weather and came in with *ahem* quite the poopy butt! So we had ourselves a lil' spa moment: warm water soak 💦, gentle scrubbing 🧼, and a deep cleanse followed by a luxurious conditioning treatment to restore his royal fluff. 👑

Then I trimmed him down for a fresh, clean, plushy look—and BAM 💥 He's back to being the happiest little marshmallow puff on the block! 🐾

Grooming isn’t always glamorous, but I’ve got the patience (and stomach) for it all. 😂

This handsome Goldendoodle gets the royal treatment every time he visits 🛁✂️ His pawrents love his coat long, fluffy, and fabulous—so I do everything I can to keep him teddy bear soft without the tangle drama 🧸💨

That means extra brushing, deep conditioning, and allll the floof maintenance magic. Keeping a long coat like this takes WORK—but Bruno’s worth it 💅🐾

This gorgeous gal is a mixed-breed rescue and she's been part of my crew for a while now! 🐕‍🦺

Lola actually started as one of my dog walking clients back in the day and now she's a grooming regular. 💅✨

Her mom and litter were rescued from a rough situation, but now Lola is THRIVING with her amazing family (which includes cats, fish, and even ants 🐜).

After a deep scrub, coat conditioning, blow out, and a mountain of hair removed (husky genes), she left soft, shiny, and totally fabulous! 💃
