🍁🦃🍂This Thanksgiving, help us in our efforts to unravel the mystery of Cerebellar Abiotrophy in the Lagotto Romagnolo breed and financially support affected breeders and puppy owners committed to research. 🍂
As we approach the season of gratitude, we remember those we've loved and lost. Today, we honor Luna (a picture of her is seen here), a beloved Lagotto Romagnolo who crossed the rainbow bridge on August 3rd, 2023 leaving her owners and all involved with heavy hearts and a fervent wish to understand and combat the ailment that took her - Cerebellar Abiotrophy (CA).
Luna is not alone. Over the past year, we've seen a troubling rise in CA cases. Symptoms appear in puppies as young as 11 weeks, robbing them of stable movement and ultimately their vitality. With costs for neurological exams, tests, and crucial necropsies soaring up to $5,000, the financial burden on breeders and owners is immense.
Luna's legacy sparks our Thanksgiving fundraiser, aimed to provide financial support to affected and research committed Breeders and puppy owners.
Why? The fight against CA has illuminated a stark reality: the costs for care and research are daunting. From neurological evaluations and critical tests, to the collection and shipment of samples for study, the financial toll on affected families and our research initiatives can be immense.
100 % of YOUR DONATION will be given to support
Veterinarian Costs:
Helps cover the expenses of neurological exams and tests, which are paramount to diagnose CA correctly and early.
Sample Shipping:
Provides for the expedited international shipping of samples to the University of Bern, which is a crucial step in broadening the scope of the research.
Our collective generosity this Thanksgiving can change the tide for the Lagotto Romagnolo breed. We stand on the cusp of a breakthrough, but we can’t do it without your support.
🍁❤️ Let's honor Luna and all the other Lagotti affected by CA.
➡️ DONATE now*: Your gift could be the one that funds the discovery of a new genetic variant, or eases the burden of a family grappling with their beloved pet’s diagnosis.
Luna’s journey ended far too soon, but with your help, it will continue to inspire a legacy of hope and health for every Lagotto that follows.
