Have you picked up your pets parasite prevention?

Many parasites such as intestinal worms, fleas and ticks are still active despite the colder temperatures.

Why do we want a f***l sample?

We recommend bringing a f***l sample with you to your pets annual wellness exam to test for any intestinal parasites that your pet may have picked up from contaminated soil or f***s. Intestinal worms can also be transferred by other external parasites such as fleas.

What happens during a wellness visit?

• We will get a full history on your pet, asking questions about their diet, lifestyle and general health

• The doctor performs a full physical exam from head to toe. This includes but is not limited to examining their eyes, ears, and mouth, as well as checking their body for any abnormalities such as injuries, skin conditions or lumps.

• Vital Signs: we will check their temperature, as well as listen to their heart and lungs for any abnormalities

• We may run diagnostics such as lab work and/or x-rays based on your pets life stage and history

• The doctor will make recommendations specific to your pet based on their history as well as their physical exam

Annual wellness visits aren't just for dogs!

Cats are especially talented at masking underlying medical issues. Routinely bringing them in for physical exams and diagnostic testing can both prevent illness in the future, as well as catch an underlying medical condition early.

• Animals are notorious at hiding their symptoms, so running diagnostics can catch something we may not have noticed otherwise

• Running diagnostics when a pet is healthy can tell us what their 'normal' is, so we can have a baseline to follow if anything changes in the future

• Annual diagnostics can catch early signs of underlying diseases so that we can start treating early and potentially prolong their life span

Annual wellness checks ensure that your pet stay up to date on their vaccinations, as well as parasite prevention. They also allow us to catch any potential underlying medical concerns before they become serious.

Our furry friends unfortunately cannot tell us how they feel, so prevention is key!
