Meet Berry,
This little lady has a lot of personality and carries a medium level of spiciness!

Berry is playful, funny and social. This pretty girl can also be swatty and moody at times. Occasionally she will even tell you about her displeasures.
This cheeky little lady doesn't enjoy the other cats being around and this could be part of her moodiness. Berry is only 1 year old so she has lots of time to fine tune her manners once she's home!

This energetic, petite, all white gem enjoys pets, attention and really enjoys interactive play with strings and such. Berry will do best in a home with lots of play and no small children or other cats. We don't know about dogs.

Well, we start the new year with a tough loss 💔

In Loving Memory of Claire 💔🐾

Today, we share the heartbreaking news that Claire, one of our sweet senior cats, has crossed the rainbow bridge after spending seven l years with us at C.A.R.E.S.

Claire was more than just a cat; she was a loving soul who touched the hearts of everyone who met her. Whether she was curling up for a nap in her favorite sunbeam or gently nudging for pets with her soft little purr, she brought so much joy and comfort to our shelter family.

Though Claire never found a forever home, she found love here every single day. We made sure she always knew how special she was, and in return, she showed us the meaning of resilience, warmth, and unconditional love.

Her absence leaves a hole in our hearts, but we find solace knowing she spent her final years surrounded by care and affection. Claire, you were so deeply loved, and you will be forever missed. 🌈

Rest easy, sweet girl. Your pawprints will remain on our hearts forever. 💕

Meet Maybell and her son Billie, two resilient cats who have come a long way from their tough beginnings. In April, an incredible lady Terry contacted me (Tara) through a mutual friend, asking for help rescuing these cats who were living in a metal yard along the Langley Bypass. On April 10th, we successfully drop-trapped Billie and brought him into C.A.R.E.S. The following evening, on April 11th, we trapped Maybell and reunited them.

When they first arrived, both were absolutely terrified, with Maybell being the more fearful of the two. Over the past six months, our dedicated team of “kitty kissers” and I have been working daily to build their trust. The transformation has been incredible!

Billie, a strikingly handsome boy, showed his tolerant side early on thanks to his love of food. Offer him something tasty, and he’ll happily let you pet him. Without food, he’ll tolerate short interactions and will give you a stern, clawless smack when he’s had enough. He also loves when we play with him with interactive toys and is in absolute love with catnip. Billie is often found snuggled up to his mom.

Maybell, on the other hand, was much more reserved, but her progress has been just as inspiring. She’s now comfortable with gentle pets while enjoying her favorite churro treats, and like Billie, she’s learning to trust humans. This beautiful girl is often found cuddling with her son, but if he is busy you can find her snuggled up to roommate Andy, or even sometimes Norma. It is very cute!

These two have grown so much and are becoming more relaxed every day. While they’re not yet ready for adoption, they’re on the path to finding a loving home. When you support our shelter, you’re giving cats like Maybell and Billie a second chance at life.

UPDATE: ADOPTED 💝

Meet Duchess, this regal lady lived her life outside on a property overrun with cats prior to coming to us. She had multiple litters of kittens out there and was an excellent mother to each one. Her most recent litter of kittens was born here at C.A.R.E.S. and it was delightful to watch her nurture them. Her kittens are now grown and starting lives of their own, it is now this precious girls turn for the same. Duchess has a very unique speckle of extra pigment in her left eye that makes her eyes very mesmerizing!

Dutchess enjoys the company of other cats and will be a wonderful companion in a quiet home. This precious girl is very outgoing and loving but can be shy and reserved at first. We are confident in the right adult home that Duchess will become the perfect best feline friend. She is currently at the Langley PetSmart store and will be there to meet this weekend! 5-8pm tonight, and 12-3 Saturday and Sunday we will have volunteers on hand at the store!
