**Help Us Give Remi a Fighting Chance!**

Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

We are reaching out to share the heartfelt story of our beloved Remi, a seven-year-old St. Bernard who has brought immense joy and love into our lives since we adopted her when she was just a year and a half old. Remi came from a home where neglect was a significant concern, weighing only 120 pounds at the time of her rescue—far below the healthy weight of 150 pounds for female Saint Bernards.

In 2019, my best friend and ex-partner, Len, and I decided to bring Remi into our family to provide her with the love and companionship she deserved. We already had another St. Bernard, and we knew they would grow up together as best friends. Remi quickly became an integral part of our family, forming beautiful bonds with Len, his father, my daughter, and many friends and neighbors.

Tragically, in 2021, Len passed away suddenly, leaving a void in all our hearts, especially for Remi. She was devastated by the loss of her dad—the one who cuddled her, played with her, and loved her unconditionally. For the past three years, we have all been navigating this grief together, with Remi continuing to heal from her loss while bringing comfort to us as well.

Recently, however, we received heartbreaking news: Remi has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer that is unfortunately common in Saint Bernards and other large dog breeds. The cancer has progressed to just below her kneecap, and our veterinarian has presented us with treatment options. One of the most viable options is an amputation of her right leg, which we are willing to consider to give Remi the chance she deserves to live a longer, happier life.

Osteosarcoma can be aggressive, but with the right treatment, many dogs can live for a year or more after amputation, enjoying a good quality of life. We want Remi to have that chance to stay with us, surrounded by the people she loves.

This is where we turn to you, our loyal customers, trusted friends, and even kind strangers. We need your support to raise the funds necessary for Remi’s surgery and post-operative care. As you may know, Petjet is a company built on a passion for animals, not profits. We transport pets because we care, often taking the most uncomfortable and lengthy routes to ensure they reach their destination safely. We have never sought to profit off our services, and now we are humbly asking for your help to save Remi.

Please consider contributing to our GoFundMe campaign. Your generosity will allow us to give Remi the chance to live out her remaining years with the love and comfort she deserves. Every dollar counts, and we are immensely grateful for your support—whether through a donation, sharing our story, or sending positive thoughts our way.

Let's help Remi live her best life, filled with love, joy, and the companionship of her family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support!

With love,

The Petjet Family

FLETCHER - HOSPITALIZATION PM UPDATE 🚨

Total Raised: FULLY FUNDED BY AN ANGEL DONOR ♥️

I spoke to the vet hospital this evening for an update on Fletcher. It was a positive update, a very small one, but even tiny trends in the right direction are a win.

His respiratory rate has slowed down to 42. Still elevated, but no longer hyperventilating the way that he was. He has also had no more episodes of coughing blood, and is resting in the oxygen chamber.

He is still considered critical, but stable. We’ll take it.

Our fundraiser for him is struggling. The current bill we have covers care up until 6pm tomorrow, an is due in full at that time. We are still several thousand dollars behind having that initial bill covered, and I’ll be honest, it’s a little scary. Not paying it isn’t an option, and the vets could recommend additional hospital stay and oxygen support for him given that he seems to be responding to it.

Please consider making a donation via the link in our bio, or via PayPal/Venmo/Cashapp to snarlrescue. Sharing this post to your stories is also extremely helpful to get new eyes on our sweet boy.

We can do this SNARL village, but we need you. Fletcher really, really needs us to.

05/09/2024

As of August 1, 2024, new import regulations for Canada to the United States will come into effect, significantly impacting the transportation of dogs across the border. These changes, implemented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will require dogs entering the United States to meet specific criteria in order to ensure the health and safety of both the animals and the public.

Firstly, dogs must be at least six months of age or older to be eligible for importation into the United States. This is a significant change from the previous rules, which had a restriction of 8 weeks. This new requirement means that puppies under the age of six months will no longer be allowed to enter the United States, posing challenges for breeders, customers, and individuals who are moving with their pets.

Secondly, dogs must be fully vaccinated against rabies and have an ISO microchip implanted for identification purposes. The rabies vaccination must be administered at least 30 days before the dog's entry into the United States, and the microchip must be compliant with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards. This ensures that the dog's health status can be easily verified and tracked, reducing the risk of disease transmission.

Due to these new changes, the options for transporting dogs into the United States will be limited. For instance, if your pet is a large breed, your only option may be to use Alaska Airlines, which has a reputation for safely transporting large dogs. However, this may result in increased costs for pet owners and breeders, as well as those who are moving with their pets.

Another important aspect of these new import regulations is that all dog imports must be done at a land crossing. This means that individuals who are planning to move to the United States with their pets will need to consider the logistics of crossing the border by land, which may involve additional expenses and travel time.

To illustrate the impact of these new import regulations, consider the following example: if you are planning on moving to the United States and your puppy is only four months old, you will not be able to enter the United States with your dog. This could be a significant challenge for pet owners who have invested time and resources into raising their puppies and may require them to make alternative arrangements for their pets' care until they reach the required age.

In conclusion, the new import regulations for Canada to the United States, effective as of August 1, 2024, will have a significant impact on the transportation of dogs across the border. Pet owners, breeders, and individuals who are moving with their pets will need to carefully consider these changes and plan accordingly to ensure a smooth and compliant transition for their beloved animals.

We will still transport pets for our customers, but we just wanted everybody to have the heads up that these new rules and regulations come into effect August 1.

RAINBOW BRIDGE - Pancake 🌈🕊️

We are incredibly sad to share with you that Pancake passed away suddenly this morning. She was eating her breakfast when she began struggling to breathe. Her foster started CPR immediately and rushed her to the vet where they were unable to revive her 💔

X-rays at our recent vet visits with her showed an extremely small trachea. She was diagnosed with both a significant spinal deformity and tracheomalacia, or “floppy trachea”. The vet had just started her on a new medication yesterday to try and assist with her breathing.

Rest easy little one. We will miss you so, but know that you had some incredible friends ready to meet you at the rainbow bridge 🌈🕊️
