We attended AB/NWT Regionals May 24-25-26. Very proud of my Outlaw Josey placing fourth in 12” DD Veteran category. Qualifying for nationals and received five placement ribbons. 
Josey is a very nervous dog and didn’t have a very good show at regionals two years ago. Not that she doesn’t know her game. It’s the crowd the excitement the amount of dogs the visual pressure…. Just all that! 
It was heartwarming to see her relaxed within a crowd of people and dogs, enough to sit between my legs and receive a massage. She’s just the type of gal that never wants to meet your dog and has a little interest in people too. Her distance for gambles is remarkable, but she struggles with moving away from me towards ring crew. I was able to send her away for an end gamble directly towards the timer and scribe without a wobble.
We were able to walk by the food trucks and all the generators, and have a quick wander through the vendors. She didn’t ask to leave when an elderly lady with her cane stood by us, she didn’t take her eyes off of her but she didn’t ask to run away. These are the things I am most proud of her for.
It was a beautiful bonding experience for me, and my fantastic companion. 
FK9 put on an absolute splashing event, all the bells and whistles.

She’s a loving little soul that immediately decided she needed to be Besties with Siggy the salon cat. Some pictures of her seduction dance. Thought it was best to put Sigg in a kennel as sometimes there’s too much love ♥️

We are experiencing a pet overpopulation pandemic, and for many, an economic and housing crisis. This environment is forcing pet owners into very difficult situations where they are abandoning their animals, which in turn results in massive strains on rescue groups, and shelter resources, and overall affects the general welfare of companion animals.
Every day our team, along with other professionals in the field, hear that there is simply nowhere to go with pets that is affordable. Take a look at the local rental listings, and you can easily see the limited number of available pet-friendly properties.
We are encouraging property owners and managers to consider ways that they can make their rentals pet-friendly, helping to create suitable accommodations for all of our community members.
Some benefits to keeping a pet-friendly property:

◾️Attract more long-term tenants (pet owners stay an avg. 21% longer)
◾️Attract responsible tenants

Good information on sharing space with wildlife. 
Coyote families are under immense challenges when they are caring for their vulnerable neonate young. Please apply best practices for safe and healthy coexistence by using a leash when walking a dog. Coyote parents are protective and defensive when it comes to their young ones. A dog is like another predator to the parents and is perceived as a danger and threat.
Avoid intruding on den areas; never allow your dog to invade a den area off-leash, and photographers, please adhere to ethical guidelines when photographing wild animals. Learn about stress reactions (vocalizing, body gestures) that a wild animal may demonstrate and respect these communications by leaving them alone.
When you overstay your welcome in a sensitive area such as a den or rendezvous site, coyote parents may es**rt or "shadow" you away from this location.
⚠️ Coyote parents may bluff charge, howl, bark, pace back and forth asking you in their verbal and physical language to move away. Please listen and leave the area calmly.
Remember they are concerned parents who need to be sure that you (and your dog) are leaving and not a threat.
🐕🦺 Always walk family dogs on leash. Calmly leave the site and stay alert about your surroundings. Never turn your back and run.

VITAL Reminder:

I’ve heard some rumblings that kennel cough is making it’s rounds. And now a few clients from various classes and programs report that their dogs are coughing, sneezing or feeling under the weather.
So here’s some information.
First- it’s not always coughing. Sometimes it’s gagging or just a bit of a hack like they are trying to throw up. Usually it’s the worst in the morning or after exercise. Dogs might have a bit of a runny nose or be a bit lethargic in general.
Second- it’s like a cold. An upper respiratory infection that your dog can get. Spread through saliva and tiny little spit particles. Dogs can get it even if they are vaccinated. A vaccine just makes it so that your dog won’t get it as bad potentially.
Third- if your dog (or any of your dogs at home) are coughing or have symptoms they need to stay home. The length of time depends on the dog. I would wait at least a week until after the symptoms are gone. This way you are protecting your friends dogs too!
Please be vigilant and responsible. I know it sucks to miss classes and stuff! But it usually runs through pretty quick so you’ll be back before you know it! I can give you homework if you ask! If your dog is coughing at class or day train I’ll be sending them home!
And of course don’t be afraid to call your vet clinic and ask questions! If your dog is struggling to breathe or can’t seem to get over it there are absolutely things they can do to help!
There has been reports of Kennel cough. If your dog is showing any signs or in contact with dogs that may have kennel cough Please reschedule your appointment. This virus can contaminate a facility quickly. I would like to keep the residents and customers of in Grooming salon and Training facility safe.🙏
Recently was asked for suggestions about foot dressings the pup was excessive licking. I thought this was a great idea. Temporary of course because you need to find out why. 😊

Eddie has been coming to the salon every three weeks for his entire life to get his toenails cut. He runs in to greet me every time despite the reason he is here. His mom said to me have you raised your prices for toenails? I said no she said Eddie is 11 and he’s been coming since he was a baby and you have never raised your prices. 😊😉❤️
